The Town nestles well in the Avon Valley and is essentially invisible when approaching by road from the East. This large are of development would seriously intrude into the landscape and involve the loss of high quality agricultural land. The existing over stretched highway infrastructure through town and over the Clopton Bridge simply could not handle this level of development. Focus instead needs to be on optimising the Long Marston "garden village" area and providing a much needed by-pass to the west of the town.
