It runs counter to the principles of New Settlements. It would increase traffic in town. It would blur the distinctive character of Tiddington and Alveston. It would cause congestion on the Wellesbourne Road and increase pressure on Clopton Bridge. A relief road, which could be necessary as a result of the proposal, is impractical across the flood plain and simply lead to more traffic on the already congested Warwick Road.
