There is currently no public transport to the local villages, an increased population would necessitate even more car use to enable people to get to work or school. Roads in the outlying villages are often narrow with eroded edges unsuitable for heavy traffic.
More houses means more flood risk. Our village has been inaccessible during heavy rainfall this winter, this will only get worse if houses are built on flood plains.
Shipston would lose its unique character, and doesn't have enough existing employment opportunities. Where will all these new residents find work?
