Development of the proposed areas bordering Shoulderway Lane, west of Furze Hill Road and Hanson Avenue will result in increased flooding risk. Recent weather events have overwhelmed the existing drainage infrastructure resulting in flooding occurring. Land belonging to my neighbour in Furze Hill Road is regularly turned into a babbling brook by even moderate rainfall and the resulting stream has, on occasion, crossed onto my garden, overwhelming the existing soakaway and pooling before running away, at surface level, down Hawthorn Way. Further development uphill will only exacerbate these events potentially leading to damage to property.
