The proposed new settlement at Hatton is disproportionate to the existing level of development in this semi-rural area. It would significantly disrupt the lives of current residents for up to 30 years, with long-term negative consequences. Additionally, the settlement would merge the urban area of Warwick with Hatton, which goes against established green belt policies. Alternative sites outside the green belt should be considered first, as they would better serve development needs without compromising valuable green spaces.
