SG 17 should NOT be considered as a Strategic Growth location. It is remote from other growth areas and has none of the characteristics considered as necessary by the SWLP. It would require very large capital investments in infrastructure to expand much beyond its current size. Its economic future will rely on tourism and the associated special landscape areas of the Cotswolds and Feldons. As such these assets to its future must be carefully protected and not overdeveloped. Ref Draft Policy Direction 48. If a Beautiful South Warwickshire is really desired then don't mess with its Cotswold gateway.
