SG17 Priority 1 designation flawed due to lack of physical and economic capacity for growth. As a dormitory town with no additional infrastructure capacity (education, health, roads), doubling size (3000 homes) will increase travel for work, health, educational and recreational needs impacting access, interregional travel and neighbouring villages.
Proposed growth would impact residential amenity and exacerbate existing annual flooding through doubling of size, e.g. REFID173&331 planning permission refused (2018) on sustainability grounds, flooding now regular and development will cause downstream impacts.
Proposals contrary to Shipston Neighbourhood plan and therefore local democracy. Proposals fail to meet criteria in consultation regarding DPD25SDP.
