with regard to Land South of Southam Road. This is a high quality agricultural land which supports a high number of wildlife species. Planning policy EC2 states that best and most versatile land should be protected. 22 species of birds have been recorded as displaying breeding behaviour here. The breeding behaviour of five BoCC Red list species (skylark, yellow wagtail, yellowhammer, grey partridge and house sparrow) and seven BoCC Amber list species (song thrush, wren, whitethroat, moorhen, woodpigeon, dunnock and chaffinch) was identified in the survey.

Six of these are priority species under Section 41 of the NERC Act 2006.
