Flooding is a major problem in the area. Recent development on the Camden Road led to overflowing sewers. Infrastructure cannot cope.
Road traffic is frequently backed up and Shipston inherits congestion from Moreton-in-Marsh over development and no by-pass. Bus service is inadequate. No railway. Increased population with diminishing local employment opportunities and lack of infrastructure. Conservation area threatened. Health, Police, Fire and banking services already overstretched, or removed to other centres. Delay in response to emergencies would be increased.
Quality of life would be diminished by development on riverside walking paths. Loss of recycling centre would lead to more fly-tipping.
