Reducing car dependency is highly impractical for those who live in rural areas / the outlying villages
Public transport is already over crowded / provides a poor experience / lack of options so people are unlikely to choose this as a preference when travelling to and from work
Cycle lanes and paths won't work in rural areas as roads are too narrow to accommodate.
The high speeds travelled on such roads make it unsafe to walk or cycle in these areas
