WDC should look to introduce appropriate design guides for the appropriate refurbishment and repair of buildings and most especially as buildings are made more energy efficient - e.g. replacement windows etc. Consideration should also be given to including recommendations for the use of appropriate materials.

Fully support any plans to protect and maintain historic gardens both as an historic record but also as a living example for gardeners of all ages eg Warwick's Lord Leycester Hospital Victorian garden

In addition to adding the requirement above the Preferred Options Paper should be more specific about how it was balance „carrot and stick‟. We do not support the Council‟s Preferred Option.

The choice is not between confrontation and partnership, national guidance needs to be applied sensitively and appropriately.
