Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Green Belt should be preserved; No infrastructure; accidents on all junctions of the Cubbington Road and difficulty getting onto it during the day; Parklands avenue already used as rat run; side roads not made for extra traffic; Flooding in some Roads; Schools will not be large enough; children should be within walking distance of any school which is better for their health; crops should be grown on this land; should not need extra housing - property should be refurbished and am sure there is a lot in Leamington.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1. Flooding: More houses will contribute to flooding in village
2. Policing: most trouble caused in the village is by youths crossing fields from Lillington. To join us would incur more problems i.e. noise, drunken behaviour, thefts, damage to cars
3. Village has been here since the Doomsday Book, will lose its village atmosphere and community spirit
4. Churchyard is nearly full, no burial ground
5. Major problems with traffic, more accidents.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1. Flooding problems occuring from new development as rain water will flow down to Offchurch Road
2. Major traffic problems, more accidents on top road by the two garages - Comptons and Cubbington Car Centre
3. More problems with drunks, thefts, road racing as is as present
4. Overcrowded schools, doctors

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

a.) This is a flood plain 'not safe ground'
b.) this is vastly increase the probability of flooding at the lower end of the village of Cubbington i.e. bottom end of Windmill Hill/ Offchurch Road and all streets leading off. Also lower end of New Street and all properties which were subject to flooding in recent years
c.) high ground at all sides and all directions will enhance the extra probability of heavy floods annually.

Questionnaire Response: WE DO NOT WANT ANY MORE HOUSES TO BE BUILT ON GLEBE FARM, CUBBINGTON.
CUBBINGTON HAS ALREADY SUFFERED FROM FLOODING IN RECENT YEARS AND BUILDING ON FARM LAND IS ONLY GOING TO EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM.
I ALSO WISH TO SEEM FARM LAND KEPT AS FARM LAND.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

CUBBINGTON ROAD IS ALREADY A BUSY ROAD THUS THE EXTRA TRAFFIC FROM THE DEVELOPMENT WOULD CAUSE SERIOUS CONGESTION AND EXTRA DIFFICULTIES WITH GETTING ONTO THE ROAD.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS ALREADY AT CAPACITY AND THE DEVELOPMENT WOULD CAUSE THE EXISTING BUS SYSTEM TO COLLAPSE. THE TELFORD AVENUE/PARKLANDS AVENUE/CUBBINGTON ROAD AND THE CROWN WAY/CUBBINGTON ROAD/LIME AVENUE JUNCTIONS ARE ALREADY OVELOADED AND DANGEROUS FOR PEDESTRIANS.

THE GREEN SPACE BETWEEN LILLINGTON AND CUBBINGTON IS A PRECIOUS, HEALTHY AND PLEASNT RESOURCE FOR PEOPLE AND WILDLIFE. IT IS A SCHEME THAT WOULD HAVE SO MANY NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES ON THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN THE VICINITY.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

We are concerned about the impact on flooding and the local roads. Much work has been done by residents to alleviate flooding, but this was without the need to accommodate more dwellings and the loss of natural land-soak. 'Compton's' crossroads is barely safe now.
The village's unique identity would inevitably be lost. We often enjoy the walks over the land and we would be saddened by the loss of this attractive, safe amenity.
There are a number of derelict buildings nearby which if developed would provide a substantial contribution to the housing requirement and enhance the neglected areas.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

*This is a village location, with a close knit community which should be protected. A large anonymous housing estate would not fit in.

*The green belt land should not be compromised. The development would destroy the popular footpaths and negatively impact the wildlife and the environment.
*This is a high risk area for flooding.
*The roads in this area could not cope with the increased level of traffic this development would create.
*Local schools could not cope with the increased pressure.
*We chose to purchase property here because of the village life and proximity to nature not a large scale housing development.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Sewerage, stormwater and thousands of gallons of hard surface run-off would travel in the only available direction - downhill - straight to the scene of 2007's disaster.
Just months ago the Kenilworth to Leamington Road was closed by road works and drivers diverted along the Cubbington Road and Leicester Lane. Having queued interminably at the Leicester Lane/Coventry Road roundabout every morning during this period, I know exactly what effect the hugely increased commuter traffic would have on the existing road system. The sheer scale of this proposal causes all its failings. It's too big!

We live in wonderful location, with beautiful views and wildlife on our doorstep and where the children can play safely.

We are horrified the plans to build houses on our doorstep.

The wildlife, roads and environment would suffer immensely and there would be extra strain on schools and doctors. My children would no longer be safe to play outside in the street.

We bought our house because of its location and views over the fields.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1.Increased flooding risk to the Ladycroft, Knightley Close, New Street areas.
2.Access point near Queen Street/Offchurch Road junction will cause large increase in traffic on the narrow Offchurch Road and increased congestion at the Rugby Road/Windmill Hill junction during peak periods.
3.Traffic to/ from Coventry Road using Church Hill will pass through Cubbington village center or
Price Road which could become a 'rat run'.
4.Traffic accessing, M40 and industrial estates south of the river will have to pass through Leamington.
5.Local schools and doctors will become overloaded.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

People move to this area for a reason: A small village community with lovely views of the countryside.

A big factor is schooling, our village school is small, friendly, and everyone knows each other and looks out for each other including an excellent Ofsted report. The school is very popular for this reason and is already over subscribed, with families having problems getting siblings into the school now. This would be become an even bigger issue if this development was too succeed.

Please consider this development seriously, as you would be spoiling this lovely countryside and home too many wildlife.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1) This is green belt land
2) This area is already prone to flooding & the authorities still haven't sorted the current problems.
3) The lie of the land seems totally unsuitable for building.
4) It will put more pressure on the road infrastructure. There are already accidents occuring @ the Windmill Hill junction & near the Rugby Tavern.
5) This would also put pressure on our local schools & doctors etc, adding to the increase in traffic.
6) The loss of a public amenity in the network of public footpaths.
7) Disturbance to our local wildlife. Many badger sets in the area.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

WE FEEL THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE ALREADY OVERLOADED ROADS - ESPECIALLY PARKLANDS/TELFORD AVENUE JUNCTION. IT WOULD ALSO INCREASE THE CONGESTION GETTING INTO AND ACROSS TOWN.
THE HEAVY CLAY SUBSOIL ALREADY CONTRIBUTES TO FLOODING IN OUR AREA AND THIS WOULD ONLY BE INCREASED.
THE SPACE BETWEEN LILLINGTON & CUBBINGTON SHOULD BE PROTECTED TO KEEP THE INDIVIDUAL IDENTITIES OF THESE COMMUNITIES.
DEVELOPMENT OF GREEN BELT WOULD IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE.
THE ACCESS POINTS OFF VARIOUS CLOSES/ROADS WERE NOT BUILT TO SUSTAIN AN INCREASE OF TRAFFIC THE DEVELOMENT WOULD BRING.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Further encroachment into the countryside would have negative affects on local residents. Potentially impact on the peacefulness in Cubbington and I wonder how the council protect these qualities, opportunities and wildlife.
More housing means more cars. The mini roundabout on Windmill Hill already causes minor tail backs at rush hour. How does the council plan to support the increased traffic?

In addition, what are the plans to cope for additional services and amenities?

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

*There are alternative sites which would be more suited to development eg Baginton Airfield.

*The roads already suffer from congestion, along with roads through central Leamington. There are frequent accidents at the roundabout on Windmill Hill and on the Rugby Road.

*There is a severe issue with flooding and the development would exacerbate the problem.

*The green field site is enjoyed by wildlife and walkers.

*The village of Cubbington is a close knit community, and the development will impact on its resources.

*Local facilities would need to expand to cope with the pressure.

My main objecttions are:
flooding - increased concrete putting additional stress on already flood prone areas
access - increased traffic on unsuitable local roads
urban sprawl - losing the identity of Cubbington village
loss of green field site - related to above and creating vast swarths of housing with no interspersed countryside
Building on green field sites sets a bad precedent and will encourage further urban sprawl

All villages should be able to grow in a controlled way to provide local housing need, including ensuing that growing families can move home without having to move out of the area. Limited housing developement close to the village boundary may be appropriate in this case.

I am not a resident of cubbington but live near the top of the parade west of the campion hills.

I strongly object to the development of the land next to Glebe Farm, i regularly go for walks on that land on the way to cubbington woods and weston under weatherly/hunningham, the views from the top of this land give a remarkable view of leam valley especially on sunny days, it's a wonderful area with plenty of wildlife

Housing should be concentrated south of leamington, there are much better opportunities to improve infrastructure here without impacting too much on other area's.

Concerns about traffic congestion and safety; Local Facilities; Environmental Issues including flooding.

I view the consideration of Glebe Farm as an alternative Core Strategy Site as a totally inappropriate development of Green Belt, Implanting a large development on long-established neighbouring settlements, as in this case Cubbington Village and Parklands, imposes pressures which would not exist in the originally-designated Core Strategy Sites, for example at Harbury Lane.

Concerns about traffic congestion and safety; Local Facilities; Environmental Issues.

I object most strongly to this development as Cubbington will lose its identity.

I am worried regarding the risk of flooding, as I was a victim of the 2007 flooding losing all of my possessions, it is not a pleasant experience.

The increase of traffic on the Offchurch Road/Windmill Hill is of great concern, myself, friends and family have had numerous near misses at the Windmill Hill/Rugby Road roundabout.

The green belt should be preserved to protect our wildlife, we will be losing enough green fields to the High Speed Rail Line.

It floods in this area already.
The Cubbington Rd is often grid-locked with traffic at rush hour, any extra traffic would cause more misery.
Cubbington is a village but this proposal would make it just part of Lillington therefore Leamington would become larger and lose its small town appeal.
Cubbington is one such community which is thriving when so many are on the cusp of failing; please do not make the irreversible mistake of letting the speculators destroy the green belt which keeps Leamington what it is.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The proposed development would link Lillington to Cubbington village, eroding natural boundaries and green belt land.
The affected area is extremely popular residents with a number of public footpaths.

There will be other environmental issues. There are a number of badger setts and I understand that there are greater crested newts at a site close to Hill Farm.

Cubbington itself has seen enormous strain put on it's foul water systems and over the last few years flooding has occurred. The proposed development will only add to any further incidents.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

1.The green space safeguards the countryside from encroachment and maintains the two distinct communities of Lillington and Cubbington.

2.Pressure will inevitably arise to extend the development to the clearly defined boundary of Welh Road and into the Green Belt.

3.The site is prone to flooding.

4.The existing road infrastructure is not suitable to support the significant increase in traffic.

5.Junctions are already overloaded at peak times with poor safety records.

6.A significant increase in cross town traffic and congestion as all of the major food retailer and employment opportunities are located south of the river accessed by only four river crossings.
