Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Please note that with regard to the sites adjacent to A46,
GT17 and GT18 - Southbound is East, and Northbound is West, but these are transposed in your documentation, which is confusing.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This location is within the green wedge where the Racecourse is located. Any development in this wedge, east of the A46, south of the railway and north of Hampton Road, would undermine the protected views of and from Warwick over the Racecourse and to/from the countryside beyond.
It is not a suitable site.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The site has no easy access to GP Surgery, schools or public transport. The sole access to the site would be directly from A46 (Warwick Bypass), leading to slow moving caravans and lorries accessing and exiting a fast dual carriageway road, with attendant risk of accidents. There would be no easy or safe pedestrian access to the site. The site would be visible from the bypass as well as Warwick Racecourse and town centre giving a poor image of the area to visitors to Warwick and passing traffic, and spoiling what is at present a pleasant greenfield area.

It would be great to be able to offer sessional youth work support to the young people on the sites. The Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs would be interested in offering such support if funded by say the Community Levy

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Need details and factual information about the size, location and type of sites and what factors have been taken into consideration in the selection of sites in the vicinity of Chase Meadow.

Request an urgent public meeting to enable open discussion before any decisions are finalised. Elected representatives have a duty to listen to their electorate as much as they have an obligation to carry out Westminster directives.

Areas of concern include the environmental impact/waste management, the devaluation of nearby properties, the overall management of the site, the visual impact on Warwick town as a tourist centre.

Resident of the "Chase Meadow" estate. Has grave concerns regarding the proposals near the estate. Understands that repeated requests for a meeting between the planning department and local residents have been refused. Requests the Council's Chief Executive meets with local residents to discuss the situation further.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

As a resident of Chase Meadow and business owner has a number of concerns.

Important to note existing traffic problems, particularly pulling out of Chase Meadow onto Hampton Road.

There is a parking issue around the pub (Unicorn) and the shopping complex. Often people use the main road causing a traffic problem with public transport and private vehicles.

A large proportion of the development is unadopted and is lacking in street lighting so certain areas can feel uncomfortable yet there is no reduction in council tax.

Parts of Chase Meadow suffer from flooding so additional development and people will make matters worse and put additional pressure on services.

The area around Chase Meadow has seen significant development in recent years and therefore there are already limited areas of open green space for the public to enjoy.

Need to respond urgently to these points.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Totally opposed to any sites within close proximity of the Chase Meadow estate. Have seen over a number of years the mess the 'travelling community' generate and the disruption they cause with council tax payers footing the bill for the clean-up operation. Their behaviour is not acceptable.

Ymatebydd: MR IAN JENKINS

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Strong opposition to the traveller sites proposed in south west Warwickshire.

The basis for this objection is:

School Places - understand children from traveller communities will be given a higher priority when allocating school places but schools in the area would be unable to cope with any potential increase given the projected school intakes for 2013 - 2016 and the large extensions to family estates such as Chase Meadow.

GP Access - existing surgery is already stretched so concerned it cannot cope with the additional patients.

Infrastructure - concerned about additional traffic flowing through Chase Meadow estate and the need to police the speed limits on these unadopted roads. An additional turning on Hampton Road so close to an existing turning is a risk to residents' safety.

Aesthetics - having seen traveller sites in the past, they are a serious risk to the tourism economy for Warwick. The proposed Hampton Road and Junction 15 sites are key routes into Warwick and should be preserved. Also, the Hampton Road site will be visible to those attending the races.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Wish to register objections to the proposed traveller sites in South Warwickshire.

The local infrastructure will not support the proposed site.

It is too close to the new racecourse stable block and will have a negative impact on tourism at both the racecourse and the town centre.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Object to the four proposed permanent Travellers sites to be situated close to Chase Meadow. Main objections are:

The local infrastructure (schools, doctors, roads) would not be able to support one or more of these sites; any additional traffic could have an impact on the safety of existing residents; these sites would have an impact on how the town is viewed and could affect tourism and therefore have a negative impact on the local economy; Chase Meadow may still have a high risk of flooding and this would have to be taken into consideration when allocating sites.

There should be an urgent meeting so there is the opportunity to discuss and ask more questions about the proposals.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Chase Meadow estate is dramatically increasing in size putting more demand on facilities.
Concern that schools will not be able to cope with further increase in pupils outside that anticipated.
Families registered with The New Dispensary and availability for appointments already restricted.Surgery cannot cope with additional patients that traveller sites accommodate.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Feel this is dispicable.
Looking to move into larger house on the estate, however this may change as we don't need this type of site next to our community.
When travellers have come to Warwick in the past it has brought nothing but trouble, loss of earnings to local business as they have had to close and huge clean up costs.
I hope the MP's and Council can find some sort of sensible solution that means these sites are well away from our communities.

Object as a resident of Chase Meadow to the proposed Hampton Road site and surrounding area proposals. Have witnessed problems, damage, harassment and waste generated by travellers at workplace at Tachbrook Park, Warwick and surrounding area. Police are essentially powerless. Don't want this sort of problem in our family-friendly residential area.

Understand that up-to four sites for Gypsies and Travellers planned in my community. Although not sure of exact locations, really pleased about these plans. They have previously been made to move on without having anywhere else to go and it's time we accepted their way of life; they are no different to the locals that live in council houses and flats, they just prefer a caravan. Hope this opinion, which is shared by others, is taken into consideration. Hope the dim view some have of Gypsies and Travellers won't stop the plan going ahead.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Believe WDC should look outside Green Belt for all of its sites but if this is not possible, suggest using Green Belt sites which have previously been developed. This site, along with GT17, would be more suitable than Kites Nest Lane. Together, they could provide a substantial number of pitches and be easily converted without further development in Green Belt. Access to road network is good, utilities already set up and close to Warwick town for access to services. Already houses on A46 so no concerns about noise. Also plenty space to pull on and off the site (might even be slip roads already).
