My understanding is that this is a greenfield site: development here is not in the interests of the environment and decreases the gap between Leamington and Kenilworth, allowing the towns to sprawl together. The supermarkets are mid or south Leamington and the road infrastructure is not capable of dealing with the increase in traffic: sections affected are bounded by existing houses preventing upsizing.

Stoneleigh should be identified as a secondary service village on account of its relationship to major employment opportunities proposed at Stoneleigh Park and Coventry and Warwick Gateway and larger centres of population at Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick. It is proposed that land behind Birmingham Road could be released from the green belt for housing without impacting on the purpose of green belt in this area. A new village envelope should be drawn for Stoneleigh including the land edged in red.
