Ymatebydd: Cllr David Armstrong

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

SG02 is largely represented by existing employment land, which is very sparse due to the agricultural nature of the industry represented, and is in my opinion not efficiently used. Subject to the nature of employment land sought I would support making more efficient use of this land, through increased density, or a wider mix of employment types.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The historic Stoneleigh Park Estate is a very sensitive habitat with ancient Woodland and important wildlife corridors. Any development to the east of Stoneleigh road in particular would eat into an important green belt corridor. Land blighted by HS2 works in the vicinity also needs to recover.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I believe this is an ideal location for employment growth as it is a big enough site already for employers to expand on without creating further damage to the environment. However, there are no bus routes to Stoneleigh Park and I believe this would need to be improved in order to make the best use of the growth opportunity offered by the land at Stoneleigh Park and the other side of Stoneleigh village.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Stoneleigh Park is already a site that has been built upon and is not in my opinion "Green Belt". It has good links to Kenilworth and Coventry.

If this site is chosen it will impact sprawl and that should be considered when deciding other and future sites.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This land includes the NAC site which is largely developed with industrial units and offices. It will include brown or grey land which is preferable to using green belt and will provide much needed jobs to support the housing planned in the area.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Although this area is currently used for light industrial and agricultural purposes, it is entirely green belt and is also surrounded by attractive parkland which is used to leisure activities. There is a case that HS2 has already undermined the case for not redeveloping this area.

Ymatebydd: Mr Jon Redhead

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The location of Stoneleigh park would be a favourable proposition considering that much of the building infrastructure could be easier to accommodate, as well as local links for employment and transport. The site has been host to many very large events in the past including the Royal show, and Town and Country Festival which are no longer held there. The large site would accommodate many homes close to employment areas.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This area is well supported by the existing infrastructure provided by the A46 and the B4113/B4115. The local environment is already being degraded by the construction of the HS2 railway line making the additional impact of new housing less of a disadvantage compared to other sites. The National Agricultural Centre (NAC) at Stoneleigh has seen lower demand in recent years and could be repurposed for housing with many of the essential power and services already in place.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

It is important to reduce the squeeze on this site by not industrialising the additional 5 blocks as they stand in greenbelt which makes a significant contribution to the identities of the Bordering Towns and City.

This area contributes significantly to all 5 stated purposed of the West Midlands Greenbelt particularly in restricting urban sprawl and in preventing the neighbouring Historic towns merging. Further inclusion risks this groups of Historic towns being subsumed into the West Midlands Conurbation and it is the sole purpose of this Greenbelt to prevent exactly that.
