Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction- 12-Locations for Employment Growth?

Representation ID: 94851

Received: 03/03/2025

Respondent: Stratford-upon-Avon Town Transport Group

Representation Summary:

There is potential for a development around Gaydon to become a fully fledged Strategic Site. Location on the M40, and with the potential for a New Settlement with a new station on the Chiltern Rail Line, would provide enviable travel connectivity to Birmingham Airport, Leamington, Birmingham, and London, making use of released train pathways once HS2 is open from 2033.
Research centres and Warwick University expansion could expand the employment offering. A strong employment base would provide a New Settlement with a clear purpose, making it a success. See responses to SG13/14, and New Settlements F3 & G1.

Received: 03/03/2025

Respondent: Stratford-upon-Avon Town Transport Group

Representation Summary:

In order to reflect and comply with Strategic Objective 1: "Providing sustainable levels of growth in the area", the Core Opportunity Area description should be widened to include the rail corridor which runs parallel to the M40. Once HS2 releases pathways on the route, employment clusters should be assessed and designed to maximise use of rail.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction-16-Airfields?

Representation ID: 94860

Received: 03/03/2025

Respondent: Stratford-upon-Avon Town Transport Group

Representation Summary:

Potential transport technology changes could mean that airfield space is at a premium towards the end of the life of the plan. It is therefore suggested that land at Wellesbourne Airfield should be protected from over development which would reduce the current land that is set aside for airfield use.
