Site represents greatest danger to Guide Dogs as an organisation; strong objection.
Explain importance of and investment in Guide Dog (National) Breeding Centre (NBC), need for disease control and measures taken to avoid disease (specifically included in original siting criteria). Concern for location of a G & T site nearby with unknown vaccination and health status and disease risk. Have consulted Veterinary Expertise (full details provided). Cross infection could result in loss of pregnancies and puppies. Would be very costly to breeding programme and detriment to Guide Dog Nationwide distribution network and the national charity and an important organisation in the local community. No guarantee of health management or movement of dogs. Presence of bitches on heat within NBC will attract male dogs and any free roaming dogs will be constantly trying to enter the centre resulting in nuisance and increased disease risk. Therefore would not be acceptable to locate a G&T site adjacent or in the vicinity.
Would not be a compatible and integrated land use or promote peaceful and integrated co-existence.
As landowners consider land is unsuitable. Will strongly resist cpo. Area of search includes land forming part of current operations and an essential part of functioning.
