Instead of all affordable housing to be retained in perpetuity these paragraphs should be amended to only require certain affordable products to be retained in perpetuity, namely affordable housing to rent and discounted market sales housing.

The requirement for affordable housing to be transferred to a’ Registered Provider, the Council or equivalent’ is not appropriate given that not all affordable housing products need to be managed by such bodies. As such, amendments should be made to make reference to the need to only transfer certain types of affordable housing to the Council, Registered Provider or other bodies.
