We consider the Preferred Vision generally covers the environmental matters that affect Warwick District. We welcome the references to flooding, waste management, climate change and protection and enhancement of the natural environment.

There is a lack of recognition of the economic relationship which occurs between Warwick District and Coventry City, particularly given the concentration of employment opportunities on the northern edge of the District.

Support, however, where significant community advantage can be brought forward as a result of new development allocation, then such proposals should be given greater weight in the determination of allocation choice and priority.

We agree with the Preferred Version but do not feel that the Preferred Options implement that vision as far as Kenilworth is concerned.

There is far too many planned houses on agricultural land. The density is too much and there will be infrastructure issues.

The proposed development for land to the south of Harbury Lane will completely surround the Park. There is concern that this will 'blight' the residents' homes and future resale will become very difficult, similar to the Myton Park, some 20 years ago.

Concern about the impact of the proposed development on the quality of life of the park's residents. Residents have chosen to live at Heathcote Park for its quality of the air, views of open countryside and the peace and quiet, and bird and animal wildlife around. The proposed development completely encloses the Park resulting in air, noise and traffic pollution and access problems. This will detract from the residents' quality of life.

Other sites should be considered for housing. WDC must consider Finham, Peugeot site at Ryton, Coventry Airport, the Arches area and a small number of homes in each village area to allow for local growth (not high priced executive homes. The latter could be achieved without strain on the existing infrastructure. Consider a small development of approximately 250/300 homes in the local area may be appropriate, possibly for elderly people.

Objects to housing proposals on Land at Lower Heathcote Farm, Land West of Europa Way, Land at Woodside Farm, and Land South of Sydenham and East of Whitnash.
Queries position that 10,800 new homes are required for the period to 2026 and feel that the numbers that these assumptions have been based on have not been validated. The predictions for growth in the Core Strategy are based on the period of additional house building between 2001 and 2006 driven by inward growth from Coventry and Birmingham and not on local need - large number of proposed houses contradicts the vision
