Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Paragraph 4.8 (3) - Kenilworth currently ranks highly in the UK for High Street retail unit occupancy and has a Waitrose. Where is the threat?
Paragraph 4.8 (6) - the Thickthorn development will necessitate major congestion on top of the current congestion at the Birches Lane roundabout and along into Leamington. The current infrastructure cannot cope.

I support the addressing of flood risk. I see a lot of potential in creating new wildlife sites in this.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Para 4.8 #3 One of the biggest threats to town centres is the lack of plentiful (preferably free) parking.

Para 4.8 #6 Congestion and air pollution will get far worse if villages are expanded without addressing the existing infrastructure deficiencies.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

4.8 - 2 If Warwick District is to remain a prosperous area, housing for younger people should be a priority , especially in Kenilworth. The town needs to attract younger residents. Currently the only new housing being built is sheltered accommodation for retired people so the town is a magnet for older people.

4.8 - 3 "The threat to the economic strength of the town centres of Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth from retail and leisure developments elsewhere." The biggest threat to the economic strength of Kenilworth's town centre is the lack of well paid employment opportunities within the town.

Issues 4.8
Paragraph 4
"This paragraph acknowledges current and future needs and objection is made to the omission of Places of Worship.
Christians recognise that conditions are not improving in this ""present evil world"" (Galations ch 1 verse 4) and as persons ""seek the Lord"" and ""feel after him"" (Acts ch17 verse 27) future needs will increase.
This vital community need/service should be provided for, giving ease of access for all, aged, young and disabled within the district.
Existing communities change so that planning needs should provide for changing requirements ."

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

'The size and condition of existing community facilities and services (particularly schools and health-care facilities) and whether they can meet current and future needs.'
neglects to refer to Places of Worship. Issues already outlined in this clause are important, but it is well known that Places of Worship are key for communities of all sizes. As a practising Christian I know schools are needed for the mind, health-care for the body but Places of Worship are vital for spiritual welfare; in supporting strong, vibrant and healthy communities. Places of Worship should be included here as an identified need.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

A description of the implications of the changing population structure and the latest household projections should be included in the Plan. The Council should also consider restructuring this section so that it sets out, in addition to issues, the problems and challenges facing the District, together with identified opportunities.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

We agree with many of the issues identified, but consider that opportunities are not properly represented and greater reference should be made to the excellent locational benefits, strong demand for housing and robust local economy which can support growth of benefit not just to the area but to the sub-region and wider region.
