Proposed Development of Greenbelt land at Blackdown & Old Milverton

I object to the above development as this is the only area which exists for walking offroad and greenbelt should mean "greenbelt".
Should this development take place Kenilworth & Leamington would more or less be joined together

I don't like to see a beautiful area of countryside or large arable land, built-on in grand scale! and we just happen to have a lot of countryside and arable land around us, here. I could warble-on! so I will end by asking~Is this giant development of houses and roads a real must-need?.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I feel that not enough consideration has been given to if these houses are actually required and whether there are people wanting to move to the area to take up jobs that are on offer. There is an economic down turn at present. Green belt should stay green belt.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am appalled at the Council's proposal to build on our green belt land north of Leamington Spa. One of the delights, for me and my family, about living in Leamington Spa, is its proximity to the countryside for walking and for fresh air. It also keeps Kenilworth as a 'separate' town with it's own distinct character.

I appreciate the need for more housing but not on valuable Green Belt land to the North of Leamington Spa.

There is also a need to protect Green Belt land and not destroy it which this proposed development will effectively will do.

I live in the centre of Coventry and I have been visiting this area for over 15 years on a regular basis to visit friends, enjoy the countryside and generally take advantage of being in such a wonderful place (outside of the inner city areas).

This area is not only important to the people that live in the village itself but also to people like myself who live in inner city areas. Old Milverton, is a wonderful village and to build on the land would be devastating to such a beautiful and typical English village.

Proposed deevelopment North of Milverton will:
Reduce "Green Lung" between tonws
Reduce ability to enjoy the recreational value of the area
Damage nature of approach to Kenilworth and Leamington
Damage independent reatilers by encouaring out of town shopping (eg through LNRR)
No postive impact on trafiic flows
Failure to comply with NPPF
Damage wildlife and natural enviornment
Loss of high quality agricultural land
Go against the views of residents who ave previously opposed develolment in te green belt

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Does not understand/agree with the exceptional circumstances to justify building in the Green Belt to the north of Leamington, particularly as there are alternatives such as brownfield sites and land outside the green belt to the south of the town.

It is not clear who the 3000 new houses are for and will destroy the natural beuty of the area

Dismayed at proposals to build on green belt land so widely used by members of the public. Makes Leamington attractive place to live.
Importance of enviornmental issues associated with wildlife and crops.
All other sites should be identified before we dig up heritage.
What are the 'exceptional circumsances'?

Object to Old Milverton and Blackdown sites.
Land has great recreational value. NPPF attaches great importance to green belt and fundamental aim is to prevent urban sprawl.
Greenbelt fulfills 5 purposes of green belt.
There are other non-green belt sites available to south of Leamington which were included in 2009 Core Strategy. Employment opportunities and infrastructure already exists here and this should be used in preference.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Objects to plans for building on green belt north of Leamington, created for the specific purpose of preventing the spread of development. This should not be redrawn to fit in with future housing plans, nothing is planned for Radford Semele so why North Leamington. Those wanting to live in a busy part of leamington full of supermarkets and industrial units would have chosen the south side.
The proposed development will probably expand and include major supermarkets in the green belt destroying the character of this area. The area should be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Object to Old Milverton and Blackdown site. Well used as recreational land. It also prevents urban sprawl and merging with Kenilworth.
Alteration to green belt boundaries should only take place in exceptional circumstances. Land to south previously identified in Core Stategy not similarly constrained. This land is valid alternative. lack of exceptional circumstances should lead to reconsideration.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Object to houses and employment in the green belt north of Leamington and at Blackdown.
Green belt should not be developed ahead of suitable land to south of town and east of A452. Will result in over provision of land.
Size would compromise preservation of Leamington and Kenilworth. Development to south of town was rehected because of cross town travel but employment facilities are in south.
Old Milverton is distinctly different settlement and its identity would be destroyed.
Dispute population growth figures therefore development is excessive.
Protect green belt for inhabitants, wildlife and the greater environmental good.

Few areas where you can get into open countryside and enjoy amenity. Loss is avoidable given other areas of non-green belt land available.
'Sharing the pain' arguement absurd. Leamingon should retain what attracts people to the town. It would be shameful to build here until all alternatives exhausted and housing numbers checked.

Object to Old Milverton and Blackdown development.
Has great recreational value. Meets the 5 NPPF criteria for green belt. There are non green belt sites which were in Core Strategy and should be used in preference.
There is a huge cost in buidling northern relief road which would have to cross flood plain with greater expense and cannot be justified. Using money to upgrade roads south of Leamington would be better.
There are no exceptional circumstances which outweigh the harm caused by altering the green belt boundaries to allow development.

Object to sites at Old Milverton and Blackdown.
Understand need for affordable housing, but not in green belt.
Other viable non-green belt sites identified in 2009 plan.
No compelling reasons or 'exceptional circumstances' to justify development.
This Green Belt satisfies 5 purposes.
Reducing green wedge to south of town preferable to loss of green belt to north.
Council abandoned conclusions of green belt study from 2009.
'Everyone needs to share the pain' not a legal planning arguement.
Land south of Leamington closer to transport links and employment. This site would require new road. Land is productive farmland.

Assume designated after careful consideration so why is original work now being ignored? Nothing has changed since 2009 core Strategy so what justification is there to disregard this work?
Whilst understanding need for more houses, it must be carried out on brown and white field sites before consideration is given to green belt.

Object to development on land at Old Milverton and Blackdown.
Land marks separation of Kenilworth and Leamington. It is good agricultural land which is important to retain.
Public footpaths used every day.
Could result in flood risk through additional hardsurfacing.
Employment areas south of Coventry haven't materialised.
New roads would be a disaster with queues already on A46 and A452.
Kenilworth and Leamingtons would nearly join.
Has to be other alternatives - Ford factory? Heathcote?

Object to Old Milverton and Blackdown sites.
Already sufficient land outside green belt east of Europa Way and south of Heathcote. Those sites close to existing infrasructure and employment. Land already identified as developable.
Not sensible to spend on new road diverting resources from other public investment and ruining village.
Priority to save money and make sensible use of existing facilities.
Spreading options would result in sprawl which NPPF states is reason for green belt.
Land is needed for recreation and exercise and loss would allow Kenilworth to merge.
Doubts over figures for immediate future in recession.

I am amazed that the local council wish to build on the green belt land between Leamington & Kenilworth when previous proposals didnt include this area. This time there are no options and a short consultation. Object to development of green belt north of Leamington.
Land is amenity for local people not only for recreation and exercise but also as green and open space.
Green belt land should not be used where there is other suitable land available, such as infilling in urban area. Seems to be empty property such as residential development at Pottertons.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Opposes development in the green belt and the extent of development for the district overall. Growth cannot be accomodated through the method proposed, bolting on big developments to towns and filling in open countryside will result in areas where people will not wish to live. The amount of new dwellings requires actual "new town" planning, not constant town extending. Warwick District is taking a large amount of Warwickshires share when there are less populated areas to the south of the county where sites would have good access to the M40. Old Milverton countryside serves as important open space used regularly by local residents who have chosen to live in a small town environment. Of concern is the lack of detail on the proposals in terms of the proposed location of schools, roads, supermarketand these elements will require additional use of green belt.
