Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Although I disagree with the number of houses required this development appears sound only if the community services especially education and health are also provided. However the size of the development may cause traffic congestion on the local roads even with the proposed road improvements.

This, along with the site south of Harbury Lane will totally overload the infrastructure in this area. The traffic congestion, extra pollution and general environmental damage to the area will be too great.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The allocation of Myton School Playing fields for housing should is not justified and cannot be described as positive planning. The loss of school playing fields is not consistent with national policy. The School and the Council have been lacking transparency in the promotion of the scheme. The Local Plan is therefore unsound.

Testun llawn:

I strongly object to the allocation of Myton school playing fields for housing.

Myton School has not undertaken any public consultation on the proposed allocation and the Council has provided no justification or evidence as part of the Local Plan process which would warrant the redevelopment of the school playing fields for housing.

I understand that Myton School owns the freehold of the land and as an Academy has freedom over the financial operation of the school.

This proposal presents itself as a speculative development scheme by the school which is unjustified and will have a harmful effect on the character of Myton Road.

I have no objection per se to Myton School being expanded but this should be done within its own current landholding including redevelopment of existing buildings and land to the south of the existing campus and sport pitches. It should not result in the loss of valuable playing fields which make an important contribution to the character of Myton Road.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Concerns at the impact of housing allocation, which occupies rising land to the west of Warwick Castle Park (Grade 1 listed) and will intrude into views from the park and from Banbury Road.

The council states it has been governed by principles set out in DS3 (protecting areas of significance, including high quality landscape) and DS4 ((b) sustainable locations close to areas of employment; (e) avoiding sites with a detrimental impact on the significance of heritage assets and (f) avoiding areas of high landscape value.) These two allocations fly in the face of that.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

We feel that there should also be a strategic landscape corridor along the route of Europa Way as this will a) to some extent mitigate the loss of green fields in this area, b) secure a wildlife corridor linking the Tach Brook with the River Leam and Grand Union Canal, and c) provide an attractive route into Leamington from the south - a route which will most likely serve as the main road entry point into the town for the foreseeable future.
