Be wary of developers providing mitigation or compensation for the harm they cause. Effective mitigation or compensation is expensive and it would be cheaper to avoid the harm through better design in the first place.

A HIA would clearly show the Bearley/Wilmcote site unsuitable for development. The site is isolated and remote from any other communal area, it could not achieve a sustain hub around which to grow and develop its own identity. The investment required to make the site to well connected making it viable is unrealistic as there is a railway line to the western boundary. British planning is littered with such estates becoming areas of deprivation, crime and antisocial behaviour. This site should not be considered!

Warwick hospital declared a critical incident as it couldn't cope with all the patients,A&E is dangerously under pressure with long waiting times causing death and decline in health, ambulances have life threatening waiting times,GPS don't have enough appointments to offer so patients health deteriorates. HOW on earth does the council think these essential services can cope with more houses.Care I the community is poor too.its a mess!Big investment is needed in these areas

Surely if developments have a significant negative impact on health and wellbeing they should not be allowed. How can you compensate?

In Ufton village we suffer greatly from flies during the majority of the year which arrive from the local landfill site. I, along with many other villagers, are unable to open their windows or doors in warmer weather due to the influx of flies. The quality of daily life is therefore greatly reduced. Inevitably many flies will still get into the house, and land on food in the process of being prepared.
.
The potential housing site of F1 would also be affected by the same landfill site, so it is vital this issue is addressed.

For the plan to be in line with national policy and effective the following wording should be added to para 2 of the policy to recognise the health benefits of older persons housing.
Specialist Housing for older people has a number of health benefits and proposals for such schemes will not be required to submit a Health Impact Assessment

Housing and mixed-use schemes naturally contribute to improved community welfare by delivering high-quality homes, green spaces, and social infrastructure. Existing environmental health regulations, national space standards, and policies on sustainability and renewable energy already provide safeguards for health considerations within the planning process. The policy could better recognise the inherent health benefits of well-designed housing schemes, which provide safe, sustainable, and high-quality living environments.

Yes, however a definition of what constitutes a 'major development' that triggers a health Impact Assessment Screening report should be included
