Agree. Good to expand Southam and provide employment opportunities as well as housing. My only reservation is what type of businesses and employment can be attracted to these sites given the distance to good infrastructure.

Southam has already taken substantial development and lacks a rail station therefore all of SG12 would be overdevelopment and put excessive pressure on local services.

Southam is a largely self-contained small town and, as such, can accomode reasonable expansion, provided local amenities are expanded to provide for more people.

These sites are very logical and to my mind appropriately manageable additional housing for the town of Southam, well supported by the existing transport infrastructure and community services there.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Further infrastructure and facilities development will also required (cycle routes, schools, shops, medical centres and recreational facilities) which will further boost the economy in an area with significant and existing close links to major transport infrastructure and help improve the ideology of 20 minute communities. There is an opportunity to improve green credentials and sustainable transport in this area by preventing unnecessary journeys to other larger developed areas such as leamington and warwick.

This is non-green belt land and therefore a much more appropriate potential development site. No homes should be being built on green belt land as a part of this SWLP, when there are other sites, including this one, available!

Ymatebydd: Mr Alexander Steel

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Southam doesn't need developing any more. Many people have brought here for the quiet location with less people around. If more houses are built please take into account Southam high street is not ready for this. The high street needs a butchers, bakery, decent café with fresh bakes. The leisure centre in Southam is tiny now let alone adding more people into the area.
Flying Fields site = disabled / blind / pushchair users currently can't safely access Southam town due to no wide safe paths and no zebra crossing on Ring road near Daventry Road. Also no tactile pavement.
