How on earth can Wellesbourne cope with further traffic? The village is gridlocked at weekends due to the market and visiting customers, it seems to be a competition to get the village to same size as Stratford, but once again with zero thought into infrastructure on the council's part.

Will result in:
Heightened Flooding - already flooding around the Newbold Road & the roads leading off which sees the Newbold Brook to the edge of the village full and over flowing into the fields alongside acting as a flood plain.
Urbanising villages should be avoided at all costs, no concrete landscapes.
Village infrastructure & amenities are insufficient.
Public transport links are poor with rail connectivity non existent.
Road network heavy congestion daily - traffic backing up beyond the village boundary
Environment - this is good arable land & would create significant & irreversible damage to the landscape.

Wellesbourne has already been developed to the size of a small town but there is not the infrastructure to support the existing size. Areas of housing are prone to flooding. Traffic congestion is already a problem at times.

This site for growth is situated on the wide flat floor of the Avon Valley and will be impacted by occasional flooding from the River Avon and its Tributaries.
The Level 1 SFRA technical evidence is only indicative a Level 2 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment should be carried out before this site is confirmed as a Strategic Growth location.

SG15 must be considered in conjunction with other aspects of the Plan such as Ground mounted Solar PV sites.
Other existing developments and applications must also be taken into account:- Elms Farm Solar site, Warwick University site, Wellesbourne Airfield, Wasperton Gravel site and the X1 proposed development.
Within the boundary of the M40, South Wellesbourne, the A429 and The B4087 there will be comprehensive urbanisation of predominately active, productive agricultural land.
The B4087 is to narrow to accomodate an increase in HGV trafic as to is its entry route to Wellesbourne and on to the B4100.

The huge expansion of Wellesbourne to the north will dramatically change the nature of the landscape and will urbanise what is a rural area, to the detriment of the local area which will only give a small area of green space between Wellesbourne and Barford.

This is not an appropriate use of open fields and simply represents a sprawl of the Wellesbourne village merging it with the historic village of Charlecote.

This site is currently subject tor outline planning. it is quite clear that the amount of warehousing proposed will not give aircraft sufficient clearance and make the airfield unsafe. There are significant concerns raised by statutory consultees. It is now required to be assessed for sand and gravel extraction as it is in the Warwickshire minerals safeguarded area. I attach some key statutory responses to the outline plan.

Agree given the current expansion of Wellesbourne to attract employment opportunities and additional housing important. Reasonable access to road infrastructure but some reservation as nothing is explained in this document per se how by increasing all site areas how road infrastructure will be improved. This is a general comment for all as many are single trunk and there would be the need for more dual carriageways which results in long term planning and significant cost.

I object to the houses being built in Barford. We already struggle with traffic, congestion and difficulties getting in and out of the village at busy times. There is not the infrastructure to support this! We are running out of green spaces which will affect the beautiful environment and there also a lot of flooding.

This would cause: a loss of valuable agricultural land. The proposal fails to look at the capacity of the A429 to sustain travel along it. The public transport is limited and there is no rail link. Areas identified are prone to flooding and this would be exacerbated. The infrastructure in Wellesbourne could not sustain such development. The proposal could encourage ribbon development along the A429 which is not desirable. Wellesbourne had had a disproportionate amount of development over the last 10 years with no infrastructure provided except by the Parish Council.

Fully encircling villages like Charlecote will mean we have sprawling suburbs which lose any identity. This with planned quarry and HRI developments are going to make existing issues worse e.g. , access to nhs doctors and dentists, traffic generally - existing infrastructure cannot cope today but these plans make it worse
