[Comment partially redacted and summarised] No provision for further [gypsy and traveller] sites should be made. With a finite land supply, this is unsustainable.

Provide certainty rather than ad hoc applications and engage with the Gypsy and Traveller communities commonly found within the relevant geography to ensure that the provision meets the critieria necessary to encourage the use of such sites.

All local people should be consulted and their views seriously taken into consideration. Local planners should not be in a position to impose their will on settlements which has happened in the past This does unhappily does not foster relationships.

Like every other group, Gypsy and Traveller and Travelling Showpeople have the right to choose whether to live in a single settlement or in a larger settlement, and every option should be made available to ensure better integration and community relations.

There is a difference between transit and permanent sites. A transit site needs to be provided centrally for travellers moving through the area, while permanent sites should be provided as part of all larger developments, as would any other mix of housing need.

The Council's submissions to date seem to completely ignore the potential of a natural expansion to the south east of Hockley Heath which would be an excellent location for future growth benefitting from established local services and connectivity to existing and future employment areas some of which, such as the HS2 Hub, are designed to provide for Regional/Sub-Regional growth needs. Growth to the south east of Hockley Heath would also be well contained and would minimise long term and unconstrained impact into the greenbelt. Similarly, Rowington/Shrewley also offers potential for substantial and sustainable growth in the form of a new village.

With reference to Q-H6. There is a wide variety of categories of groups here- gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeople with very different needs. Temporary stopping points are not included.
