Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy- I- Water Supply and Wastewater Infrastructure?
Representation ID: 101933
Received: 07/03/2025
Respondent: Bishop's Tachbrook Parish Council
Agree with reservations on point 2. Limiting new water infrastructure will restrict large-scale development in Strategic Growth locations. Drainage and sewage systems must be upgraded before new homes are built to prevent raw sewage and flooding issues. In Bishop’s Tachbrook, infrastructure strain from Oakley Meadow’s 150 homes caused severe backups on Kingsley Road, particularly affecting Kingsley Court. Mallory Road residents have faced repeated wastewater overflows, impacting gardens and communal spaces. The lack of capacity in the existing system is seriously affecting residents’ health and well-being.

Representation ID: 101937

Absolutely critical. The existing housing stock needs radical improvement.
Hopefully this will allow Listed buildings and those within Conservation Areas to make improvements such as sensitively designed double or triple glazing

Could this be strengthened? Too many statements appear to offer ways of challenging the need for new builds to have decentralised energy systems.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy D: Large Scale Renewable Energy Generation and Storage?
Representation ID: 101941
Received: 07/03/2025
Respondent: Bishop's Tachbrook Parish Council
Support with reservations
Bishop's Tachbrook Parish Council believes that large scale generation and storage is essential. The policy, as written, seems to give a lot of opportunity for ‘not in my backyard’ objections that will take up time and resources to resolve, this is especially true of Wind Energy which, as worded, is very restrictive. Could the wording be toughened up to stress that applications will be strongly supported?

Bishop’s Tachbrook Parish Council supports the SWLP approach to Tourism but believes that Tourism is an economic driver that should be given additional emphasis in the emerging SWLP. The four towns of Warwick, Kenilworth, Stratford Upon Avon and Leamington Spa combine to provide a very attractive short break destination, and for international tourists exploring the United Kingdom. The plan should include policies to grow tourism as an important component of the economy. This will underpin hospitality, create sustained demand for hotels, will support the Arts and Culture provision and also specialist retail outlets.
