More focus on reducing violent crime & antisocial behavior would be welcome. More could be done to improve policing of housing areas/estates, in particular to the south of the river.

Large estates tend to generate social problems so community safety is threatened. Small scale housing, carefully phased over time, within existing communities, is the way forward

Higher density housing = higher crime. Affordable housing = attracts a high percentage of anti social tenants. Communities must be kept small and controlled (not sprawled)

I believe that the existing level of community safety is much higher than is generally portrayed by the media. In addition to pursuing the 'Preferred Options', the Council should actively seek to ensure that the public is given a balanced view of the true situation.

It does not make it sufficiently clear that for example the proportion of, and distribution of, affordable housing in a development can affect Community Safety and should be amongst the criteria used when planning developments.

Allotments within the district are becoming more and more the victims of vandalism and mindless damage to plots and crops throughplanned/focussed stealing of valuable and important equipment, while damaging the sheds where the tools, lawn mowers, rotivators are kept. Allotments on main roads and edges of estates are particularly vulnerable

More community police would help. Keep to centres open at night, less clubs and late night drinking - encourage publis houses for controlled drinking.
