Proper site provision in Warwickshire with adequate facilities and services should be available for the travelling community. Suitable location should be agreeable to, and consultations undertaken with, all involved parties.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The travelling community have been without a site for many years. They therefore take matters into their own hands and plague communities with their unauthorised occupation of land. WDC must now get on with it and identify a suitable site in consultation with the communities which may be affected.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Why is the council pandering to this community, people who pay no taxes have nothing to offer the local community. When they arrive it is amazing how the crime rate seems to go up and the site they occupy is just a mess with litter, dog mess and human waste. Harbury Lane is a good example people found it intimidating to go down there with their children to play.

I wonder if the people supporting this would change their minds if the travellers site was at the bottom of their garden.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

It is a disgrace that the Council has so far failed to find suitable traveller sites, and that admission is to be welcomed. I therefore support PO7 but ask that more priority be given to turing an aspiration into fact.

Several of the criteria in the policy go beyond national policy and will render the policy ineffective at delivering new sites since the policy is too restrictive.

Accept that site/sites s/be identified to meet perceived needs of genuine gypsies/travellers. Such sites should not interfere with quite enjoyment of locations of existing permanent population and not take up invaluable Green Belt land of outstanding character and beauty.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The travellers and gypsies have caused local ameneties to be shut and shop keepers threatened by disruptive behaviour. Last year travellers 'invaded' the parking by the river in Warwick causing damage to the invironment by dumpting rubbish and had to be evicted causing more expense to the tax payer.
Will the travellers be paying to use the designated site with facilities.

Hampton Magna and Hampton on the Hill are areas of outstanding character and these types of settlement are entirely inappropriate both to the community and the countryside in the area.
These travellers should not be allowed to settle around hampton Magna and Hampon on the Hill.

This is an area of outstanding character, situated within green belt. In this locality there is a distinct lack of a suitable site, amenities and general infra structure to meet their needs. The school is at full capacity. It is therefore proposed that WDC remove addtinal dwellings in our village from the Plan.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Kenilworth suffers from gypsies and travellers meetings/horse fairs three times a year. Event held on part of Thickthorn site. Chaos reins.
Nearest pub often has to close. Pettty crime.
:ack of police presence and there no longer police station in the town. Would be hard to attract anything/one to come to Kenilworth if such a realatively small town had to accommodate such a site.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Object strongly to the introduction of Gypsies/Travllers sites. When Gypsies visit the area there appears to be an increase in the amount of petty crime.

A gypsy site will increase the burden on tax payers.
