Subject to the standard method housing figures being utilised, we are broadly in agreement on the chapter as a whole and would expect the Council to spread growth throughout the District so that all areas share the delivery.

New settlements/Strategic Growth Locations

Yes, although we would expect the growth in the District to be spread throughout and to all levels of settlement, but to an appropriate level of provision for the locality in each instance.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am emailing because the online system is extremely complex and vast with no attempt to synthesise the key points. Most of the questions are also about ideals and not practicalities, and there is no commitment to sorting out the impact of these extra dwellings and families on local communities.
I am very concerned about the extensive plan for new dwellings in the area with little real practical plans for the increase in demand of local services. How much has been committed to dealing with the needs of better infrastructure? There are no solid commitments; it is nice to have a strategy, but that is not a commitment. This includes

1. roads (which are currently crowded and many desperately in need of repair – for instance substantial (over 30 cm in diameter) potholes in most roads around Kenilworth.
2. community/green space, extremely popular and insufficient nice spaces (trees, walks, play grounds etc)
3. Amenities, including swimming pools
4. Health support (NHS dentists, doctors, hospitals). Getting a doctors appointment is already extremely difficult, whilst A&E are struggling in Coventry/Warwick, with excessive waits.

The consultation document as I said is vast. Without a summary this consultation isn’t accessible to the majority of people whom it will impact. Further, without practical commitments that keeps infrastructure improvements within thresholds as the local population increases the consultation is vacuous.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Roads inadequate for traffic, lighting inadequate, lack of doctors, schools , busses inadequate. Roads can’t cope as it is. More building will choke the open air feeling Burton Green, Kenilworth has had to deal with enough with hs2.
