Stratford is such a historic area and we must make sure we preserve it for future generations to be able to enjoy. Losing these landscapes will mean we're losing our history and culture.

The Wilmcote site would destroy an area of Shakespeare's heritage. The sight of thousands of sprawling, modern houses will surely shock and put off tourists coming into our beautiful historic town and villages. More houses than were deemed necessary have already been built around Stratford (which was a scandal in itself), and ruined the historic image.
The mortar in very old buildings has been known to crack over time from traffic vibrations and the inevitable huge traffic increase through Wilmcote will threaten the stability of Mary Arden's House. This is already apparent with the old railway bridge.

Historic sites are not only vital for the local community and local economy but also the wellbeing of residents and visitors alike. They must not be diminished or encroached upon in such sites as the Clopton Corner part of SQ18. Once we have lost any such asset, it is lost forever.

Absolutely. Stratford's wealth comes from being a well known historic and famous town, with historic buildings and some beautiful green spaces. These should be protected for the people who live here, and for our global visitors who want to see Stratford's history, heritage, charm and beauty.

I agree that protecting heritage assets is important. But we shouldn't let that get in the way of making them greener. If York Minster can have solar panels, then we ought to be able to allow the older buildings in Stratford to have them.

This is so important for Stratford Upon avon's heritage. It attracts International visitors and the heritage of its buildings, streets and theatre connections should be safeguarded. Clopton House is also of historic importance and is a key part of the SG18 landscape and connection to the Welcombe Hills.

Yes, but note the often perceived clash between retrofitting for energy efficiency and preservation of heritage assets. I would welcome specific guidance around double glazing, insulation etc that specifies what is allowable and not, and supports retrofitting where there is clear energy efficiency benefit and the change to appearance is minor.

Bearly/Wilmcote proposal: the hug increase in traffic through Wilmcote that would arise would be a direct threat to the tranquil, heritage site of Mary Arden's house. This should be a proud part of the Shakespeare Trust key historic properties and the proposed development would swallow any rural/heritage appeal the supports this building. It would be irrevocable and would severely reduce the site as a public attraction in the future, almost eliminating any chance of it reopening to the public.

We have to maintain and protect our heritage otherwise within several generations there will be no memories of what we had and protected
