Obviously the historic environment should be protected - however this does not appear to have been considered in the preferred options assessment - perhaps this comes later in the process?

Yes, our existing Heritage assets is a must, and also keeping the views that remain green, and uncluttered by housing development to 'blight' that view, this means protecting green belt land that allows the Arden wood view to remain.

I agree with this policy especially when this is concerning a large and historically important asset like Warwick and Kenilworth Castles. Preserving their original settings and aspects to enhance the grandure and importance of these monuments.

Where developments are near to Heritage Assets, developers should contribute to the upkeep of those assets. Especially if the assets are in public ownership.

Wilmcote station would need to be replaced by a new facility in order to serve the proposed settlement at BW. However, the existing station is Grade 2 listed and its demolition/significant alteration would not preserve the historic environment for its inherent value.

The historic town of Stratford would be much enhanced and made safer by pedestranisation of the centre of the town and by making sure that heavy goods vehicles no longer cross Clopton Bridge. I hope the half completed relief road between Evesham and Alcester road can be completed soon to give these vehicles an alternative route round town.

In particular with reference to the fact that plots 140 (Land at Oaks Farm) and 183 (Land South West of Rounds Hill) should not be included. The area is on top of the hill and a housing estate there would be clearly visible from Kenilworth Castle, destroying the view and significantly impacting the setting of the Castle – a major tourist attraction. The land falls within the site of 'the Olde Parke' to the Southwest of the Castle. Earthworks are still visible and any housing development would destroy these and any other historical remains in the area.
