Brown field sites offer numerous opportunities to improve existing run down space, provided mixed use developments of live and work buildings, utilising existing infrastructure for travel, and creates social and economic inclusion.
Soans site and land adjacent to Sydenham Industrial Estate could accommodate 70-80 apartments and retain 0.75ha of employment land.
Common Lane Industrial Estate could accommodate 300-400 residential units reducing greenfield land take.

There should be a strategic allocation at Hatton Park to round off development which is in a sustainable location and where there is available serviced land with good access.
Land is available for a combination of a Care Village being varied accommodation for the elderly including nursing care, Affordable housing and particularly shared ownership together with appropriate new community facilities and support where there is no provision at present.
The site has first-rate access, located near the M40 / A46, has a main line railway station nearby and where the site already has existing full services and mains drainage.

The land at Old Budbrooke Road offers the following potential advantages:
- Much of the site is previously developed land;
- The site has little agricultural value;
- The site is not part of the wider landscape;
- Highly sustainable location within easy walking distance of Warwick Parkway;
- Easy pedestrian access to Warwick/Leamington via the canal;
- Well screened from Old Budbrooke Road by existing vegetation;
- Access can be gained from the site frontage.

The Preferred Options ignores local opinion as the second most popular option for growth at Baginton has been ignored.
The Council should take a more proactive approach to housing allocations and not review the Core Strategy in the event that windfalls come forward at a faster rate.
The land south of Baginton should be allocated as development would be acceptable in the landscape, and with additional mitigation measures the presence of the sewage works would not preclude development. Development could also be located to avoid noise and air quality issues from the Airport. Minerals would also be excavated during development.

There is a strong and growing need for supply of further care accommodation which must be addressed within the Core Strategy. There is a significant need to develop a policy base specifically upon the detailed commitment of sites for residential care use.
Land at Quarry Farm, Old Milverton Lane is a logical and legitimate site for such use. Development can act as a catalyst for environmental improvement and enhancement.

The proposals put forward in respect of South Sydenham bring forward a catalyst for regeneration in this area and a substantial new school proposal. Priority should be given to development proposals that bring forward regeneration/gain to existing communities.

Green belt north of Leamington should not be included because great value in providing clear definition between towns. Support continuation of area of restraint between Leamington/Radford Semele.
WDC should be allowed to restrict number of houses in multiple occupation, as increasing numbers of such risks losing family homes.
Favour developing in partnership with Coventry, area of land immediately to south of Coventry near Baginton. Consider Coventry Airport as site of substantial residential development. Could bring substantial benefits to village and remove noise/traffic problem. Area has considerable employment, frequent public transport links .
Strongly support phasing of housing because whatever sites finally agreed should be allowed scope to scale down.

Site chosen by WDC will create over provision of housing which is concentrated in south of District particularly around Whitnash.
Council recognises WDC has to provide 10,800 houses, in line with government policy. Would be more even handed to distribute sites for new houses in number of locations, including sites both north and east of district, especially as Whitnash has had three significant developments over past few years. Spread of sites will help reduce traffic and decrease additional load on infrastructure in south of District. Adopting this approach will reduce impact on environment, save agricultural land and minimise use of green field sites. This development will harm and have an adverse impact on environment.

Approval has recently been given for a new railway station in Kenilworth this will certainly alleviate some of the traffic on the roads in this area of the District. Surely it would be more prudent to locate more housing sites in the area north and east of the district as there is easy access to this new railway station, Coventry and A46 and M6 motorway. The use of brown field sites and smaller developments of 20-30 houses distributed widely within rural areas would be preferable.

Would make more sense to spread new housing more evenly across district and making use of A46 with links to M40, M6, M1 and M69.
If new housing built north of Leamington and east of Kenilworth, supermarkets could be based there bringing much needed jobs.
Understand that area at Finham has been promised to Coventry for overspill - there is no explanation why.
Areas chosen by public in consultation do not match with those in preferred options.

The proposed development for land to the south of Harbury Lane will completely surround the Park. There is concern that this will 'blight' the residents' homes and future resale will become very difficult, similar to the Myton Park, some 20 years ago.

If there is a need for social housing why is growth being focused around the rural edges to the south of Warwick, Leamington and Whitnash when people living in social housing need easy access to town centre facilities. Areas to the north of the district (Kenilworth, North Leamington, Cubbington, Lillington, Milverton, North Warwick and West Warwick) would be more suitable for additional high density housing as there is easier access to the centres.

Additional housing growth for Kenilworth should be reconsidered due to the pending railway station. Why are the houses not dispersed over the district? Some housing should be allocated to rural areas to encourage a change in demographics and ensure rural services are sustained.

Areas proposed to the south already suffer with overstretched services and infrastructure. The urban fringe south of Coventry or land at Baginton should be used - why isn't land at Finham being used for the District's needs instead of Coventry's overspill.
