We do not understand the reason further homes are required in this area, when over recent years there have already been 2 major developments of housing in the area of South Farm and Warwick Gates.

WDC's position state in 10.43 is very strongly supported. The quality of people's lives is adversely affected by taking away more and more of the green spaces in the towns and villages.

Other locations more suitable than those proposed are brownfield sites of Baginton Airport and the former car factory at Ryton.
Spreading the development in smaller units throughout the 22 villages in Warwickshire over a period of 10-15 years should seriously be considered.

Use brownfield sites and save limited green spaces. Coventry airport and Ryton are two possibilities.

I would support developing brownfield sites and if possible the reduction of the number of properties currently used by students in Leamington.
Finally, I suggest that over the period planned for this development, small scale building adjacent to villages in Warwick District is a much better approach to this housing problem.

Time has come to look at a new town rather than reducting the quality of life for a large number of people in Leamington and Warwick. I not the benefits:
Self contained with its own shops schools and medical facilities
Opportunity to plan the infrastructure
Minimal disruption for the majority

Of the various possibilities which you list my opinion is that development in the 'Land North of Milverton' area would be a very poor choice in that it would have a very serious impact on the Green Belt. I hope that the possibility will be discounted.

British Waterways considers that possible directions for growth should result in sustainable settlements with a range of facilities offering regeneration and development potential providing for a strategic approach to growth within the district. Areas with sites within and adjacent to the canal corridor accommodate the potential for a range of uses and facilities and offer regeneration and development potential.

No WDC hasn't considered everything.
Availability: they have asked developers what land they want to sell, rather than considering what land is best suited to actual needs rather than national government's ideas.
Achievability: WDC haven't considered what improvements to infrastructure would be required before jumping to conclusions.
Suitability: have mentioned discounting various plots because of argicultural value, problems with access, but ignored these well known problems when choosing sites, specifically Europa Way, Harbury Lane sites.

The Council does not appear to have considered land around Hatton village which I would think would be a viable solution as it ha undergone new build in the not too distant past and is ripe to be turned into a small town.

Eastern approach to Kenilworth would be spoiled if a mixture of industrial units built in the Thickthorn area. Any increase in affordable housing could be located in Dalehouse Lane/Common Lane area where similar properties are available but as yet unsold.

Council has taken easy option because the land at Thickthorn was offered to them for development. No thought has been given to where these people will work, where their children will go to school or what impact this will have on the character of the town. The intention to build on the rugby club land, and then offer to provide green space and sporting facilities within the development is laughable.

I think it is essential in a flood risk zone that no attempt should be made to build close to the river. Also there should be some variety in the style of houses permitted in different area otherwise we shall be surrounded by a wheel of Sydenhams.
