Comments:
No, the Green Belt should not be considered when other options are available
Green Belts should be kept to limit overpopulating certain important/historical areas and Stratford is definitely one of them.
New settlements are preferable to meet targets and quotas to prevent putting strain on existing infrastructure.
The Clopton Quarter part of G18 next to the Welcome Hills should be permanently safeguarded against development to meet South Warwickshire ‘Overarching principles’ of ‘a beautiful South Warwickshire’ & ‘a biodiverse and environmentally resilient South Warwickshire’

I agree with the strategy of developing all brown field sites before any green belt is released.
I also agree that there is justification for insetting villages surrounded by green belt to allow for small and appropriate development in and around those villages where this development meets the needs of the village and not developers i.e. majority of affordable homes for local residents along with amenities and a small proportion of 4-5 bed homes and not the other way around.

No green belt land should be built on. It should be protected. It should be safeguarded to restrict urban sprawl. If there is brownfield land available that should be considered. All green belt land should be protected for future generations to come.

Green belt areas should be safeguarded to prevent urban sprawl and protect South Warwickshire’s natural beauty and biodiversity. Brownfield land should be prioritised for development over green belt areas. New settlements are recommended to meet targets and quotas without straining existing infrastructure. Specifically, the Clopton Quarter in SG18, adjacent to the Welcombe Hills, should be permanently protected against development to align with South Warwickshire’s principles of maintaining a beautiful and environmentally resilient region.

I believe that greenbelt should never even be a consideration if there is brownfield land available. By using the greenbelt land we are allowing urban sprawl to happen and adding to any existing strain on existing infrastructure. SG18 includes the Clopton Quarter which is right next to the Welcome Hills, an area that should be permanently protected to ensure a biodiverse and resilient South Warwickshire.

The SG18 land includes areas such as Clopton Quarter and Welcombe hills which are greenbelt areas which should be protected against such significant development. Creating new areas will be much more desirable compared the greenbelt areas. These areas are large enough to meet set housing targets. Where there is opportunity to build on new settlements should be highly considered than greenbelt areas.

green belt will define one village from another, in the case of land 596 and surrounding fields this will become one large sprawling mass between hockley heath and dorridge.

The excessive housing being built on green belt land is appalling. The heart of England landscape will be unrecognisable with such drastic loss to the beautiful Warwickshire countryside These large new settlements aren't appropriate and put a huge strain on local amenities such as educational and medical availability.
The town's infrastructure can't support the amount of houses being planned. The Hatton settlement and Warwick racecourse Is a huge concern regarding loss of habitat and local strain. All new housing around Europa way aren't in keeping with the local architecture. A blot on the landscape. Build outside the green belt!

‘ Radford Semele Parish Council recognises the purpose and benefits of the national Green
Belt policies. This must be set against the importance of ensuring adequate protection for
green spaces and open land elsewhere in South Warwickshire. For instance, Areas of
Restraint or Separation such as that which prevents the coalescence of Radford Semele with
Leamington Spa/ Whitnash can be just as valuable.
There is capacity within the Green Belt to accommodate more development without
compromising the fundamental purpose of the Green Belt.

protection of areas with significant historical interest should be prioritised. henley in arden has a number of sites or heritage interest and the highest number of listing building within 1 mile in the country. Visitors are drawn to Henley because of it's heritage and beautiful countryside, to allow urban sprawl of the nature proposed for the personal profit of one person will wreak irreversible damage for Henley and its inhabitants

Green Belt land should be safeguarded, not developed, when brownfield alternatives exist. Protecting these areas prevents urban sprawl, ensuring communities remain distinct and preserving South Warwickshire’s natural beauty. New settlements in sustainable locations better accommodate growth without straining existing infrastructure. The Clopton Quarter of SG18, bordering the Welcombe Hills, must be permanently protected to uphold South Warwickshire’s vision of a biodiverse, environmentally resilient region. Allowing development here contradicts these principles, damaging vital landscapes and ecosystems. Strategic planning should focus on brownfield regeneration and new settlements, ensuring growth happens sustainably, without sacrificing protected countryside.

Partial agreement. This document should be produced at the County Level, with all UK counties collaborating on growth planning. Development should be structured, focusing on balancing growth in northern or any other UK county. If a county lacks brownfield sites, development should shift to counties with capacity and infrastructure. We should regenerate and re-urbanize disused brownfield sites across the UK first, protecting green belts and expanding them only for small-scale infilling for community improvements whilst adding to the nearby larger towns or village. Net Zero does not have to mean we must develop by a train station as a priority.

The need for greenbelts remains unchanged from when they were first introduced. Greenbelt land should never be used or considered in preference to brownfield or other rural sites. There is no justification to build on the greenbelt. They are vital to limit unnecessary and unwanted urban spread. It is the Council’s duty in support of South Warwickshire’s ‘overarching principles’ of “a beautiful South Warwickshire” & “a biodiverse and environmentally resilient South Warwickshire,” to permanently safeguarded against development in the greenbelt Clopton Quarter part of SG18 next to the beautiful Welcombe Hills

I believe green belt should remain as green belt to retain the character of an area and prevent the unrestricted sprawl of urban areas. I believe there are plenty of opportunities within current developed areas to infill or develop disused building . In a time we are advocating for all things green I find it inexplicable that you want to concrete over wildlife ridden countryside, create pollution including light and noise and increase a risk of flooding

Non Greenbelt and Brownfield sites should be exhausted before building on greenbelt land. Once it's gone it's gone forever. Greenbelt maybe the short term ideal solution as it's probably cheaper for developers but everyone has a duty to protect it for the future.

Greenbelt should be preserved and not even considered! We must protect our environment for our generations ahead. Brownfield should always be utilisied. We must ensure small villages and towns don't merge together, negatively impacting the very history of each town/village. We should permanently commit to never building on SG18 The Clopton Quarter as this would irreversibly affect our beautiful green land that keeps the welcombe hills separate from the houses and buildings in Stratford. We promise A 'Beatuiful South Warwickshire' that is 'Biodiverse and environmentally resilient' You can't say that if you build on all the green space.

Seems a slippery slope to me. Kenilworth is already close to being swallowed up by Coventry but that hasn’t stopped a proposal for building a huge development to bring the two even closer. The Green Belt should be left to do its job. Possible small developments (less than 30 houses) would seem ok.

I think you need to re-read your own Strategic Objectives; you CANNOT protect the green belt whilst building sprawling housing estates on it. Removing towns and villages from the green belt is akin to the Texas Sharp Shooter fallacy. It is dangerous and smacks of changing the landscape to suit your own objectives. Remember: when the green belt is gone, it is gone forever. Please also revisit the five purposes of green belt land, especially the first which is to avoid the unrestricted sprawl of large built-up areas...and yet you are proposing to build large built-up areas!

Everything must be done to keep all the green belt areas that separate Kenilworth from both Coventry and the Leamington Warwick conurbation. If any more green belt around Kenilworth is built on, then Kenilworth will loose its identity to urban sprawl.
