There are many opportunities to build on brownfield sites before green belt or agricultural land, avoiding urban sprawl and issues with roads etc. Walkable communities, close knit with good cycle and walkways, in addition to the previously discussed work on infrastructure has to be the right solution.

Not one blade of grass should be touched until all derelict and brownfield sites have been compulsorily purchased and developed.
The council should require all landowners unjustly enriched by planning permission to pay 80% of any profit made back to the council / constituents
They should also fine all developers who hold up traffic for more than 1 week in any development
Unrealistic? Other countries manage it

Absolutely - Brownfield land should always be used over greenfield space. This would protect our green spaces, which are essential for biodiversity, wildlife and nature and would prevent urban sprawl, and minimise the loss of landscape.

Brownfield sites must be developed above all others.
Even if the area lacks infrastructure all efforts must be made to use the land for housing/employment by
providing required infrastructure and transport links to avoid using green land sites.

To protect from urban sprawl and loss of landscape, brownfield should always be considered before greenfield for development.

The key issue is how fully brownfield sites are used before resorting to green belt. The threshold for using green belt when brownfield sites are available must be extremely high.
Both the usability of brownfield sites and the suitability of green belt need to be considered. It is simply unacceptable to use sub-optimal green belt in preference to any brownfield site. For example, where green belt sites development contradict strategic objective 3 (active travel, inter alia) it would be intolerable to develop them when brownfield sites remain available.

Brownfield sites should always be considered first- this is far more sustainable. Once greenbelt land is developed the environmental and social value is permanently lost. Greenbelt protection is important in maintaining South Warwickshire's, character and heritage.

Using brownfield sites for development is always the best choice. It protects communities from urban sprawl, preventing uncontrolled expansion that overwhelms infrastructure and damages the environment. Developing brownfield land ensures open spaces are preserved, maintaining green areas essential for biodiversity, recreation, and well-being. By focusing on previously developed sites, we can meet housing needs without sacrificing the countryside. This approach promotes sustainable growth while protecting vital landscapes for future generations.

I suspect this will encourage smaller developments scattering the incoming residents among the existing towns and villages. this is appropriate so long as local services and infrastructure can cope. I keep reading that the population is ageing and being close to amenities is particularly necessary if people are unable to drive.

I feel brownfield land should always used before considering green belt land as these can never be replaced once gone. We must protect the environment & prevent urban sprawl.

Brownfield land should always be used for development over green field sites as set out in the policy, for agricultural sustainability, protecting open landscapes and minimising urban sprawl. We need to revolutionise how we think about development in the UK and South Warwickshire could be an example of how best to do this in the long term.

Developing brownfield sites is the most sustainable option. It prevents urban sprawl, avoiding unchecked expansion that strains infrastructure and harms the environment. By prioritizing brownfield land, we can preserve open spaces that support biodiversity, recreation, and community well-being. This approach allows us to meet housing demands without losing valuable countryside. Choosing brownfield development promotes responsible growth while safeguarding green areas for future generations.
