The increase in the size of JLR land (currently used as a test track) would lead to access requirements from Lighthorne Road. This would be totally inappropriate given the road network within the centre of Kineton to the south, which cannot be altered. To the north the junction with The Fosseway is a location with frequent vehicle accidents and significant highway reconfiguration would be required. The Lighthorne Road is also narrow and, again, would require major widening

We suggest a new settlement between the M40 and Chiltern Rail Line. This location would include a hotel, major high tech employment within the M40 employment corridor, and provide the most sustainable connectivity. Expansion of Warwick University onto this new settlement would provide a further anchor employment.
Further, a substantial well designed new settlement at this location would accord with the expected recommendations from the Sir Michael Lyons New Settlement Task Force expected in the summer.

This site will offer good job opportunities nearby which will support local communities as well as having good existing road connections. The development will improve transport links including potential from new stations and links to key commenting areas.
New settlements can be driven by strategic opportunities not land availability to limit impact on the local ecology.
The site would take the congestion pressure off Stratford and meet all housing needs with least impact on the environment, preserving greenbelt land.

Makes more sense to develop for reasons of strategic growth that allies with potential expansion of JLR, with the potential jobs, transport links etc that would go with that. A new settlement could grow organically and logically with an infrastructure designed to meet its needs rather than overwhelming and permanently changing the character of existing settlements. The the growth of a new settlement would be driven by a strategic opportunity and result in urban sprawl, - a more logical approach rather than prioritising development because land owners have an area of land they wish to sell for personal gain.

This is farmland so would depend on the productivity of the farms in this area. I would prefer any brown field sites in the area to used as a preference.

As with SG 14 bUT EVEN LESS SUITABLE. This area is being over developed and loosing any of its rural appearance. The views from Burton Dassett hills will be spoilt. No rail links & road links very poorm The road from Bishops Itchington is already under too much pressure with long queues developing to and from the M40 junction. The character of the landscape will be destryed for ever.

Development in this location is adjacent to pre-existing development and does not undermine green belt policy that has served the country well for many years. It is accessible to the M40.

Bishop’s itchington Parish Council (BIPC) does not object to the inclusion of this site in the SWLP.
While subjectively a point of concern for Gaydon, developments to the south of Bishop’s Itchington are preferable to those north of it due to the as they do not bring M40 bound traffic through the village.
Gaydon and Lighthorne Heath is already established as a mixed-use new settlement, however BIPC recognises and wishes to draw attention to the Preferred Options Sustainability Appraisal which assesses this location to be among the least sustainable locations.

I do not agree with this cluster being included in the plan. The sites within the cluster perform very badly on the objective scoring system and should be eliminated. In detail, the reasons are primarily that it is not in conformance with Strategic Objectives of the SWLP.

SG13 should be considered a suitable parcel of land amalgamated with G1, F3 and SG14 to create a new settlement.
Gaydon already has high quality employment and transport infrastructure, including the possibility of a railway station on the existing line.

Destruction of Greenbelt. Extreme harm to wildlife (including rare species - great crested newt, otter, GS woodpecker all spotted recently) and the environment. Inappropriate development in a rural environment. Over-development of an area close to extensive new housing underway at Lighthorne. Insufficient infrastructure (GP's School, Shops, community centre or public service providers) and well beyond capacity of amenities and road network. Extinction of the existing village, vibrant community and great harm to the quality of life of existing residents. Great reduction in opportunity to view Edge Hill and battlefield from Gaydon area. Area covers current JLR/AM site - employment concerns?

There is an excellent opportunity to create a 10,000 home New Settlement in approximately this location, spanning between the M40 and Chiltern Rail Line, with excellent existing and future high value employment, which could tick all the new settlement boxes in accordance with expected government task force guidance.
It would benefit from some of the best transport links once HS2 opens in 2033, the released capacity allowing for stopping at a new station on the site.
It could be an envious place to live - homes, jobs, and a community, with the shortest travel times to London in South Warwickshire.

New settlements take the strain off an already stretched town and have a lower environmental impact, not developing on greenbelt land. Better existing road connections.
