Wellesbourne is already getting full. Traffic is becoming heavy, services are struggling to cope. The doctors and dentists are at a point where it is becoming increasingly difficult to get an appointment. The school is full and there is no capacity to add houses to the village without drastically improving infrastructure

Wellesbourne is struggling to deal with the houses we already have. Having to wait weeks for doc appointment. Send children to schools much further out as everything here is at capacity.
We are a lovely village that has already had housing developments in recent year so build elsewhere

South Wellesbourne has a unique character due to the airfield - this needs to stay as an active airfield with no further development encroaching on the runways and surrounding space. The road system in this area is already very congested particularly at weekends and bank holidays due to the existing market. Flooding is already an issue on many of the roads in the village due to poorly maintained drainage systems - more housing will only add to the problem as the developments off the Loxley road have already shown

I am concerned due to the problems that exist in the village already which would be made worse with additional housing:
Traffic congestion
Lack of infrastructute
Negative impact to countryside and wildlife
Lack of jobs
Lack of public transport

Wellesbourne is a partly self-contained village and, as such, can accomode reasonable expansion, provided local amenities are expanded to provide for more people. The scale of the proposed development is probably too large in relation to the original and recent new housing in the village.

We object to further development in Wellesbourne village and on Wellesbourne Airfield. We have already had housing and industrial development in our village without any investment in the village infrastructure. The facilities in the village are stretched to braking point and further development will cause complete failure of the village utilities. We have already had housing developments to the West and South of the village and these are not fully occupied. We do not need any more at this time.

Wellesbourne already has enough housing for the local amenities. Any more will put a severe strain on sewage, doctors surgery, shops and schools. I moved here to get away from living in a town, and I do not want this to happen again!
Most of the land is prone to flooding, and you want to build on it? Ridiculous! There are better sites for housing elsewhere. Wellesbourne is large enough.

I explicitly disagree with the inclusion of the airfield in this plan. The airfield provides a range of recreational opportunities not available elsewhere locally.
I support the development of areas to the east of the A429.
I also support development on the most northerly section of the two sections between the Loxley road and the A429.

The development of SG16 will be of significant harm to the character of the village and it's landscape.
Lack of rail connectivity will lead to more cars, congestion and pollution. The village is already vulnerable to flood risk and the additional pressure on water and waste management is unacceptable.
The school, doctors and dentists are working at capacity.

1. Current infrastructure doctors/dentists/ schools are close to capacity already without adding new places.
2. Valuable good quality agricultural land will be destroyed when local food security needs to be prioritised as a matter of national policy.
3. Proposed development sites include flood plain for current housing in Wellesbourne and, if developed, will put the existing housing at risk. We have seen the fields around us flood over many years. Photo evidence can be provided if requested.
4. Wellesbourne has contributed to housing targets and current allocated sites provide sufficient new housing for 4.5 years of housing targets.

Main concerns:
Loss of village identity. Wellesbourne has already absorbed many new houses/estates.
Loss of productive farmland and negative impact on wildlife.
Impact on essential utilities eg sewage.
The school, doctors and dentists are already full.
Increased traffic and the impact this will have on safety, health and the environment.

Hugely increase traffic on A429, especially to M40 and through Barford towards Leamington Spa (rat run). Without major road development this will result in major traffic issues in this area.
If quarry development goes ahead feeding 200 Lorries per day onto A429, with associated traffic lights, this will result in severe congestion on this road

Wellesbourne has already accommodated large-scale housing development and has allocated planned housing for next 25 years. Scale of the planned development will be detrimental: * Rural area, therefore harmful to village status and community cohesion. *Character of landscape destroyed. Destruction of Green belt would harm wildlife and destroy vital farmland. * No infrastructure to accommodate scale of development particularly schools and healthcare . * No rail link, poor bus service. Major traffic impact: A429 already often blocked, housing would increased traffic plus proposed gravel pit and development of Innovation Campus. * Increased flood risk. * Impact on tourist appeal .

Major Flooding issues with this development which is within Flood Zone 3.
Access to the development will be on very narrow roads with poor pavement stretches.
Environmental concerns, for wildlife and our green open spaces.
So strongly object to this proposed development.

I would wish to oppose major expansion of Wellesbourne without clear justification as to flood mitigation, local job creation within a 5 mile radius, expansion of medical and educational facilities and proper impact surveys on drainage/sewage and traffic of the proposals - with confirmation that smaller scale infill housing (though less attractive to national builders)cannot be provided in nearby villages and in Wellesbourne itself. The area delineated is too large and appears to be all in the Green Belt. Has the impact of the proposed nearby Wasperton minerals extraction site been properly considered ?

I am objecting to these proposals on the grounds that it is over development of the are around Wellesbourne. We have already received more housing development than was considered necessary in the neighbourhood plan of this area.
The infrastructure could not cope with yet more housing in this and the surrounding area. Enough is enough.

As a concerned resident of Wellesbourne I object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan.
Flood risk is a major concern. The area is already vulnerable, and further development would increase surface water runoff, heightening the risk of flooding.
Already overstretched local roads means worsening traffic congestion and pollution.
There is no clear plan to provide additional schools or healthcare services. These are already under pressure, and the proposed increase in housing would place even greater strain on them.
Any development needs to be in the main housing for single and young adults, we don't need any more large detached properties

Given the substantial flooding risks, the inability of local infrastructure to support further development, the worsening traffic conditions, and the devastating impact on wildlife, I strongly urge the planning authority to reject the allocation of SG16 in the South Warwickshire Local Plan. Development in this area is unsustainable and would have a lasting negative impact on the village and surrounding communities.

The south of Wellesbourne consists of extremely beautiful countryside. People live here for the peace and quiet. There is already a substantial solar farm in this section of Wellesbourne, why is there a need for more?! This is a conservation area, and the countryside so be left untouched. It is also an area of historic interest and will be suffocated by these propsed developments. This area should NOT be considered for development. Why are we destroying beautiful countryside??

Seems OK , but The area is predominantly rural, with limited access to existing Road Networks, Transportation hubs, Healthcare facilities and Education establishments. A development of this scale would overwhelm the local road networks and requires significant investment in all areas of basic services such as Water, Sewage & Power (no gas supply!) There are insufficient primary and secondary schools to serve the population, let alone with a significantly increased population, there is insufficient Healthcare provision both for basic GP services and hospitals

Although not designated green belt land, this land is either current or potential farmland which should be preserved as such to maintain food security and biodiversity. In addition, the road networks are too narrow to support such a development and will undoubtedly lead to traffic problems.
