"Developments should aim to minimise car dependency by ensuring that parking provision is balanced." Most people in our area have to have a car to get to work, due to lack of public transport and deistances to cycle. Reducing car parking spaces only leading to congested roads and parking on pavements. Developers can demostrate paths in a development but what influence do they have over a bus route?

Rather than putting extra pressure on existing infrastructure in Stratford, new public transport links such as new railway stations should be prioritised. This will relieve pressure on existing travel routes and provide opportunities for new settlement areas that will be more suitable.

Future developments should prioritise sustainable transport by integrating dedicated cycle lanes, pedestrian paths, and well-connected public transport. Secure cycle parking, robust EV charging infrastructure, and public transport links to key locations should be included. Measures to minimise car dependency, such as car-sharing schemes and reduced parking provisions, are essential. Infrastructure should support individuals with disabilities, ensure equitable access, and promote affordable public transport for all. These steps will foster an inclusive, accessible, and environmentally responsible community. For the Parish of Salford Priors ensuring that public transport links effectively serve the towns of Evesham, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Honeybourne Railway Station is essential.

Yes, but rail networks should be prioritised and need to be reliable, so that people use them. And putting more pressure on the Stratford infrastructure should be avoided.

I agree with the desire for sustainable transport that simultaneously reduces reliance on cars and related pollution and traffic issues. The pressure on Leamington and Warwick and the area down to the south as far as the Oxfordshire border will only intensify in the future. (Bridging points over the Avon and Leam!!!?) However, one part of the solution would be to reinstate FENNY COMPTON STATION . Its position halfway between Leamington and Banbury (approx 10 miles in each direction) would relieve the pressure that is bound to follow the exponential growth of housing and commercial development in South Warwickshire.

Please develop cycle lanes which are protected from traffic. Either using raised kerbs between the bike and cars, or using bollards such as are used in Bristol - they're plastic and can easily be replaced if struck by a vehicle.
Ban parking in cycle lanes. A cycle lane with a car in it, isn't a cycle lane.

Building large scale housing developments in green belt locations will require huge investment in infrastructure to provide the required transport links and the desired 20 minute neighbourhood. For example, the proposed site at Hatton is based around the train station. This is a tiny station where the access is off a narrow country lane with very limited parking. It would require huge investment from different agencies to improve both the rail provision and safer road access for both cars and buses.
We do need a much better and more affordable bus service throughout our rural areas to encourage greater use.

This is a good policy as it reduces congestion and eases pressure on Stratford’s infrastructure. By directing development elsewhere, it helps prevent overcrowding and traffic issues in the town. However, for this to be truly effective, new public transport links must be considered. Expanding rail and bus services will ensure residents have sustainable travel options, reducing reliance on cars and preventing strain on existing routes. Careful planning can make this policy both practical and beneficial for long-term growth.

The plan should be even more encouraging of allocating locations for growth where it can access railway stations such as the example being promoted by Summix at Henley in Arden which is immediately adjoining the town's railway station and could offer improved access to it by sustainable means and parking for those travelling from the rural hinterland.

Pedestrian and cycle routes in new developments should be designed to be usable by parents with double buggies and mobility scooters. Ensure that there are dropped kerbs from the outset and pedestrian crossings at junctions and close to shops, community facilities and schools. More parking provision for residents and visitors to avoid cars parking on and obstructing pavements.
Bus routes and shelters should be included in all major developments. A bus services should be established for new settlements.
The adoption of roads should be speeded up given the length of time that new major new developments take to complete.

In the Hatton/Warwick area of the A46/A4177 junction the roads are far too congested. I travel this road twice a day at least five days a week and the current development around Hatton has caused huge congestions and is not yet finished. The road network in this area can not cope with anymore traffic and would need huge infrastructure upgades to cope. It's one of the key routes to Warwick Hospital, which will also need development as it will not cope with the additional numbers of people and will jam up the roads around it due to its location.

The expectation that railway corridors should be focussed on for development is flawed, and should be reconsidered. The capacity of existing train services and the inherent inflexibility of their nature of their service compromises their ability to provide all transport needs for family living. This means cars will always be the usual handy default transport option, so growth should be focussed around road infrastructure moving forward. Incorporation of cycle tracks is helpful so that a greener option is readily available to support individual needs and schedules for small distance journeys expected in a 20 minute community philosophy.

This is an important clause,. Despite numerous developments in Wellesbourne, this has never been done and we can cite decisions have been made not to include footways. Public transport is lacking in rural villages thus putting an emphasis on private cars. Without a focus on public transport this will not work. This relates to young people as well and access to post 16 education using a limited public transport system.

The council and other agencies are incapable of understanding how to design a sustainable transport system with good levels of accessibility. Stratford has doubled in size in ten years, and now houses illegal immigrants and attracts children with social behaviour issues from local cities that bring drugs and knives with them on public transport. This goes unchecked. With double the amount of housing, there hasn't been one new road. The only change is a short cycle path that closed a road for 6 months and isn't used. You are not qualified to do this well.

'impact on climate change' in paragraph 2 is weak. I'd suggest changing this in general to 'climate impact/s' - and here to: 'These include health and climate impacts, e.g. related to air pollution, congestion, safety, and the impact that transport infrastructure can have...'

Public transport links to and from Alcester are poor, 1000 homes is not enough to improve these. If you don't drive its very difficult to get to Warwick, Leamington, Birmingham this limits the jobs available and therefore ability to move up socially.
