Studies in Europe, America and Japan indicate that exposure to greenspace improves sense of wellbeing. A recent New Scientist article states that evidence from studies by scientists and ecologists shows that the effects of access to nature and green spaces improves mental health conditions. The proposals for many more houses and solar farms will considerably reduce access to these areas of mental improvement for local people.
Crime in villages is less than in towns. The housing proposals will increase the population to urban levels and so we can expect more crime, especially in drug dealing.

Further infrastructure and facilities development will also be required (cycle routes, schools, shops, medical centres and recreational facilities) which will further boost the economy in an area with significant and existing close links to major transport infrastructure and help improve the ideology of 20 minute communities.

This is non-green belt land and therefore a much more appropriate potential development site. No homes should be being built on green belt land as a part of this SWLP, when there are other sites, including this one, available!

I attended a public consultation event at Barford school and have additional feedback. The proposed SG09 development includes a new motorway junction, which could lead to future residential development and urban sprawl. SG09 and X1 would merge into a major urban area, contradicting the council’s aim to keep new settlements distinct. The increase in HGV traffic from SG09 raises concerns about road capacity, especially on single carriageways. Additionally, developments on Wasperton Lane could worsen traffic and impact food security by using Best Most Versatile land in an area where limited public transport options are available.

Better to increase current development in the South of Leamington/Warwick towards the motorways. Not Green Belt, close to transport links, combined infrastructure with recent developments in that area. South of river in and so residents do not need to cross bottle neck bridges to visit commercial, industrial and retail.

This is farmland and we need to protect and support farmland, once it is developed it will never be used for farming ever again. We should be creating more areas for growing food not decreasing.

This area has already been built on and the surrounding infrastructure improved to accommodate the additional housing. This would be the logical place to add more housing.

I believe the proposed housing development south of Leamington (SG09) should be prioritised for the following reasons:
1. It has good road transport links, being very close to the A452 for access to Leamingtion, A425 for Warwick and the M40 for beyond.
2. It is not Green Belt land, and does not encroach on any natural wildlife habitats.
3. Has good access to Warwick school and Myton school as possible secondary school options

Eurpoa Way used to have a beautiful open space entry/exit from our prestigious town. It has now been replaced by ugly , poor designed houses combined with car dealerships littered in amongst housing developments. The experience for visitors, residents is poor. Further development around Europa Way will severly impact negatively on the environment, our rivers and the landscape. What was once a beautiful rural approach to our town will be ruined even further by the drastic increase in raffic volumes. These new developments have no provisions for extra schools , health centres. Shires Retail Park will be overwhelmed

Leamington has already exploded in the past five years. The roads are jammed, the services are overstretched and the vast housing developements and population explosion is changimg the character of the area and making it unpleasant. Infrastructure cannot cope with all the new 29,000 homes being concentrated in a few massive developments in the area particularly south Leamington and Whitnash which is gridlocked. These houses need to be fully dispersed across the whole of warwickshire with every town and village taking a handful of them. This woudl be a fairer, more sustainable appproach as the infratrusture wil alsways play catch-up.

This area has already seen lots of growth for new development to feed into. Quantum’s of development here would allow for the provision of additional services from s106 funds and generate footfall for a new centre to create a sustainable neighbourhood. Walking a cycle links to the station and good proximity to m40 and a46

This would have a huge impact on the character of the green area that separates Barford from the southern expansion of Warwick and Leamington destroying trees and hedges and impacting the historic Warwick Castle Park which is immediately to the north. The A452 route into Warwick is already extremely congested at peak times and the road to/from Barford is regularly used by high traffic volumes as a 'rat run'. There is already insufficient infrastructure in this area in terms of road capacity, schools, doctors, sewerage system, hospitals etc. Development of this site would exacerbate all these problems.

Development at this location would destroy valuable farming land, impacting on the rural character of the green area that separates the village of Barford from the huge new developments which already exist to the south of Warwick and Leamington. The A452 route into Warwick is already badly congested at peak times and the road to/from and through Barford already carries high traffic volumes (drivers avoiding congestion on the M40 and other main routes). The services infrastructure in this area is already struggling to cope and development of this site would exacerbate all these problems.
