This is a large site. If all housing, it is too many houses to add to Henley. Doctors & schools etc will not be able to cope. If developed, it needs to provide its own infrastructure to avoid the need for long distance travel to work , shopping and other facilities. In other words create a second small town. Alternatively, reduce the number of houses and allocate part of the land to a solar farm.

SG23 Henley-in-Arden: Henley-in-Arden (with Beaudesert) is a very small historic town set in the Green Belt. It lies in a valley with open land either side; the railway is an effective western boundary. Beaudesert Park north of Henley is part of its setting. Crocketts Farm west of the railway, reached by a narrow private road, is a closed golf course. It could reopen or be returned to agriculture. Development there would be unsustainable, being car-dependent without services.
Henley has a rail service, but that does not justify new development. Its historic character and tourist value require that it stays small.

There are unavoidable major traffic issues if this site goes ahead. The road through Henley town centre can not accommodate any more traffic congestion. The stand still traffic jams cause additional pollution for residents living on the main road through Henley.Additional traffic will put of day tripper tourists who have to travel through Henley

-current infrastructure cannot sustain volume - water supply/station ,etc
- transport on paper does not reflect true services- area heavily car dependent
-irreparable environmental damage will be sustained damaging Henley's environmental assets
- mental and physical wellbeing reduced by increased pollution, loss of greenbelt
- increased road traffic cannot be managed with increased risk associated such as accidents
- does not meet the objective of running along the A46 zone
-does not meet the objective of a well designed and connected Warwickshire-expansion of road and rail links would further damage the greenbelt
-recent development application refused due to road safety

As this development is on green belt land, we would not support this site as a priority for development, unless there were significant steps taken to avoid or mitigate any loss of biodiversity and carbon sequestration/climate change mitigation.
This site does not have close access to an existing community healthcare property and will therefore require more significant infrastructure investment to support sufficient provision of out of hospital services for any significant size of development.

This plan is too big a development for Henley. It is not suitable for the infrastructure of the town. The increased traffic would significantly impact the town, which already gets extremely busy when the motorway is closed. The area also has a history of flooding which would be exacerbated with this development.

The scale of the development in this area is disproportionately large when compared with the existing town. The scale of development could not be supported by the facilities in the town, infrastructure would need to be massively upgraded, the road network (being a single road through the town of Henley-in-Arden) is not fit for purpose for such a large increase in traffic that would come with such a large development.

Stop building sprawling car-dependent suburbia. You are killing people with these decisions. Cars kill people, stop making people have to get in their cars to get to places. Build high density walkable neighbourhoods with active travel infrastructure.
Paint is not cycling infrastructure.
Buses are bad public transport.
Don't build any detached houses.

I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY SG23 AND SG24 HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR DEVELOPMENT ITS LOCATION CAN NOT BE AN ISSUE WITH A OVER HEAD HV LINE AT ONE SIDE AND MAIN RAILWAY LINE IN THE MIDDLE. ALSO THE DISRUPTION CAUSED BY SITE TRAFFIC COMING TO THE SITE WOULD CAUSE EVEN FURTHER PROBLEMS ON THE A3400 WHICH COMES TO A STANDSTILL NOW IF THE M40 IS BLOCKED. THE EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT WOULD BE CATSASTROPHIC IT WOULD DISTROY BADGERS SETS BATS ROOSTING PERCHES AND ALL WILD LIFE I9N THE AREA. SO ONE MUST WHY US .

The infrastructure in Henley is not able to cope with an increase in building eg. doctors, drains, sewers etc.
The proposed site is higher than the town which is already prone to flooding during periods of wet weather. Building on the proposed site would exacerbate run-off, causing more frequent and higher levels of flooding on the High Street and surrounding area.
The High Street is a conservation area with historic and listed buildings, many of which, without foundations. The impact of contruction vehicles and long term extra traffic could be catastrophic.

I reside at postcode B95 6DE and have recently learned about a proposal for 6,700 new homes on farmland near the A3 400. My neighbours and I have not been consulted, and I am concerned about the significant increase in traffic this would cause, impacting our journeys and local services. The junction with the A46 is already hazardous during busy times, and I question how traffic from these new homes will be managed. I believe smaller-scale developments would be more appropriate and wish to formally object to the current plan.

I am deeply concerned about the excessive housing plans for Tamworth in Arden, Ullenhall, Henley in Arden, and Claverdon. I believe these developments will severely impact our local infrastructure, wildlife, and countryside, as well as exacerbate traffic issues on poorly maintained village roads. Education and health services are already stretched, and the additional demand will be detrimental. Having lived in this area for many years, I strongly object to these plans, fearing they will lead to irreversible damage to our environment and community. Please reconsider these proposals carefully.

I don't see how this can be built over without creating many problems for Henley in Arden. It might be practical to build 200 to 500 homes there, if the appropriate services can be provided. The services of Henley would not be able to cope with the increase in demand for doctors, schools, etc. If a new road could access the new housing and lead to a large enough car park for the station, it might be a practical solution, but still for the smaller numbers and not the proposed number of houses / residents.

I wish to object strongly to the new proposed housing development in Henley in Arden, Tanworth in Arden and Ullenhall. Our roads will not take the extra traffic, most lanes are very narrow with no pavements or street lights. It is already dangerous for horse riders and walkers. The school and doctors are already over subscribed. No building on our green belt land!!! Most of our lanes are unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles, how on earth are you going to build the houses ?

1) Henley-in-Arden Golf Club. My understanding is that it is proposed to put up to 2500 new houses on the Golf Club site in Henley-in-Arden, and while i realise there is a need for housing i feel this is an overdevelopment of the site and clearly Henley does not have the infrastructure to accommodate up to 10,000 new residents - the Doctors are already stretched and the Local Hospitals struggle to cope, Henley no longer has a Police presence and the community is serviced by just 1 Fire Engine. While i believe a new school is planned within the site this will not fix the other issues. However the main issue with this proposed development appears to be the intention to access the new site off the Henley Road on the outskirts of Ullenhall. This Road already carries signs stating it is unsuitable for HGV’s and has traffic calming through the village with a 20mph speed limit, but is still used as a cut through from Henley onto the A435 to join the M40. 2500 new homes would mean 5000-6000 more vehicles, the majority of which would choose to use the Unclassified Lane through the village to get to the main road - and the traffic that turns in the opposite direction will either clog up the traffic lights in henley on the B4189, that already see’s backed up traffic in peak times, or drive traffic down another cut through - Mayswood Road in Wooten Wawen.
If the rumours of the entrance to the development off Henley Road is true how will the Development Lorries access the site - the Henley Road carries several signs stating unsuitable for HGV’s !! This is for a reason - Ullenhall is a farming community with all the side roads being single track roads - as such all the roads are used by farmers, Dog Walkers, Hikers and Horse riders, most of the lanes have no footpaths, so clearly all these activities would become dangerous with any increase in traffic or the introduction of HGV’s.
If the development is to go ahead i would like to propose the following is given consideration on the grounds of safety and the harm on the environment of Ullenhall.
A) Where Henley lane joins Ullenhall Street the Road gets closed off completely stopping all traffic from entering the Village from Henley Direction and as such pushing traffic down the B4189.
B) More Ideally given the volume of new traffic an A road would be a better option for the entrance and as such the existing entrance to Henley Golf Club should be improved and modified to cater for the traffic, this would allow access via the A3400 to the M40 or dispersion through Henley in Arden (also not ideal) on the A3400 towards Stratford.
2) Proposed Development of 16,000 new Houses in Tanworth-in-Arden. While there are areas of Land that would seem suitable for Development around Tanworth-in-Arden, the volume indicated of up to 16000 new homes in Tanworth is totally unsustainable within the village - as with Henley the infrastructure is just not in place to sustain this - having been born in Tanworth-in-Arden i am aware that other than 2 pubs, the doctors and a small school there is nothing there to accommodate such a huge development - the doctors are already overrun and there is no room to extend the school which is also hard to access. But my biggest concern once again is the increase in volume of the traffic - while there is a good road (Broad Lane) that can take traffic to the A435 and then onto the M40, i am also aware that everyone who lives local uses all the smaller lanes such as Poolhead Lane to cut through to the A435, or the back lanes towards Henley to join the Stratford Road - as with the Lanes around Ullenhall, the Lanes around Tanworth-in-Arden just are not suitable for increased traffic - again this is a farming community with Horse Riders and walkers using the roads where there are no footpaths and the danger that the increased volumes of traffic would bring would be horrendous.

I am writing to object to parts of the South Warwickshire Local Plan for homes planned for Henley Golf Club.
I firstly would like to say that I don't have a full objection.
1. I own a business that operates in Henley in Arden in the UBC rented offices. We are seriously having to consider our location due to the ability to park. This will have a significant impact on this and it isn't adequate already.
2. Secondly I live in Ullenhall, this objection is based on the volume of traffic that is likely to be generated through Ullenhall Street and Henley Road - which is already used as a "rat run" for people cutting through to head towards Stratford upon Avon. I have two young children who have almost been hit by speeding cars not recognising that the lack of pavement means pedestrians only have the road to walk down. This is already unsatisfactory. There are also several people who ride horses on the nearby farms that regularly have problems with speeding cars. The roads are too narrow and can't be widened due to the impact on the trees and hedgelines and the tarmac at the edge of the verges are already falling away. I think if any kind of developments happen, further traffic calming is required, without any doubt to protect young children and families that have to walk along a road with no pavements. Increase in traffic will result in a potentially fatal accident.
3. Henley Road or Ullenhall Street could NOT be considered for access to this development. I do however think that access from the Birmingham Road would be reasonable as this is already a main road and I appreciate that properties need to be built.

I would like to object to the proposed development in Henley in Arden, on the former golf course.
Traffic is already very busy and this area would not be able to support this many new homes. Schools and health care would not be able to cope and the beautiful countryside would be ruined.
