There is the space and topography. Any additional infrastructure required can be built at a much lower cost than in other potential sites.

The vision here should absolutely be for a garden city with a connection to Honeybourne. I attended the 18 Jan meeting organised by SCA and XR, and was horrified by government assessment requirements that risk always favouring road. I asked a question about carbon pricing in the road study. It is absolutely crucial that a fair comparison is made between road and rail - which means a proper, rounded modelling of costs incl. carbon price scenarios. This needs to be technically very high quality to avoid rejection based on Trump-like reasoning. "Haven't done it before....".

This is an existing development site capable of further expansion. A renewed financial case needs to be made for restoring the railway the few kilometres north to Stratford - thus providing through access to Birmingham and London via the existing line to Honeybourne.

New Settlements have to be preferable. The new site has the potential to alleviate congestion in Stratford while addressing housing demands with minimal environmental disruption, protecting Green Belt land. Developing new settlements helps prevent urban sprawl and reduces pressure on existing infrastructure. The area also offers the possibility of a rail link through the Honeybourne Line and rail innovation centre. With sufficient space, key services such as schools and healthcare can be built as part of the community. Planning should focus on strategic opportunities rather than solely on land availability.

The Campden Road is already struggling with the current amount of traffic and several surveys have already said that it is near to capacity adding thousands of houses will just add to the problems. Traffic has to cross one of two bridges to reaah main transport links. to access main roads. The promise of an improved infra structure and facilities for the current planned houses has still yet to happen.
Unless a proper bypass is built PRIOR to any houses being built this site is totally unsuitable

Long Marston is a great location for a new settlement as it would have a low impact on the environment. Green Belt land would be preserved and there is space for a large number of houses which would mean that new infrastructure like secondary schools and GP practices could be built. New infrastructure would take the pressure of Stratford and traffic would decrease too. There’s also potential for rail connections to the Honeybourne line.

Ex Airfield, good use of brown belt land for redevelopment
The new settlements would be more preferable and suitable
Access to good road connections to the north and south of the area.
Local employment opportunities
Good rail links for those commuting further afield - Banbury, Oxford, London, Birmingham
Helps to the pressure off Stratford Upon Avon of increased traffic congestion, pollution and urban sprawl
Gives opportunity to build new schools, amenities and infrastructure

Long Marston and Meon Vale still have scope to expand, however as all sites the road infrastructure and western relief road would need serious review and upgrades. Old abandoned rail lines could be reinstated, but at a high cost.

I feel a new settlement at Long Marston would be more suitable as it will take the pressure of congestion away from Stratford. It would also meet all the housing needs preserving green belt land. It would avoid urban sprawl that would have an impact on existing infrastructure. With the space available and the number of houses being built it would mean schools, doctors, dentists etc could be included. There could also be the potential for a rail connection.

The amount of space available at this site means that local home-building needs can be adequately covered while also having space to build local amenities such as schools, offices, shops and doctors offices.
There is also potential for new railway line to be introduced connecting to the Honeybourne line.
Development on this land would satisfy housing needs while not needing to develop on green belt land.

This location would alleviate the pressure on Stratford's congestion, which is already a problem for local residents, and would avoid urban sprawl which is straining existing infrastructure in Stratford.
It could contribute to meeting the housing needs required in Stratford District with the least environmental impact and help to preserve other greenbelt land that has more ecological or historical significance. The size of the location would also allow for integral infrastructure like schools and doctors to be built.
There is also potential for this location to have a rail connection, with the rail innovation centre connecting to the Honeybourne line.

In order to reduce the pressure on central Stratford one alternative, which should be considered in Long Marston. There is already a substantial development there, which should actually benefit from more developments. Thereby a good infrastructure could be established there to the benefit of present and future developments.

Loss of the quiet and beautiful village we currently have. Traffic concerns, it will no longer be a rural area. Also concerns around anti social behaviour, we already have a significant amount of this in Stratford and there are limited jobs so it appears to attract these kind of people. We moved here for the peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings which will be ruined should you fill the area with houses.

The infrastructure of this area is relatively well placed to support new housing developments. As well as jobs in the local area existing road networks and accessibility to the Honeybourne railway line would cope better with an increase in population than the Stratford town infrastructure. Development here would result in less loss of greenbelt land and less urban sprawl.

Already developing as a new Settlement with existing infrastructure. Is Hampered by road access, but this requires resolution today, and extending this new development would enable funding to enable the community to continue to grow. Access to Honeybourne station with its links to employment centres of Oxford / London / Evesham / Worcester, as well as north /south connections at Worcester parkway are a bonus

Better road infrastructure already in place, A46 area leading to Birmingham road will simply not cope with any more traffic & is already over capacity, I know because I live there & is awful now - this must be considered it's not just about empty green field sites, once the houses go up where are all the cars going to go!!
