I have examined the plan concerning Hockley Heath and I am deeply concerned about the amount of development proposed. This has nothing to do with the view from my home but we have a flooding problem in this village. Torrential rain causes the main road (A3400) to flood, sometimes enough to close it. The homes alongside the road then flood. Many of us now have flood barriers. You propose to build on the fields behind us. These fields soak up huge amounts of water. Where will that go when you`ve built on them? You will need drainage that doesn`t feed into the village system otherwise we will be under water every time it rains. Please bear in mind that this is not just rain water but sewage as well.

I strongly object to these proposals..
Hockley Heath village is sadly lacking in essential amenities, such as no doctors surgery, no chemist, and low transport facilities. The village school is full due having to take pupils from other developments which did not supply schools. The water supply is extremely low.
The main Stratford road through the village is very busy, and prone to flooding many times. Flooding also occurs quite frequently in outlying areas. developments of this size will mean that existing flood areas will only increase, which could lead to a serious outcome.

Any motorway issues already cause gridlock in the area, additional housing will exacerbate this and cause environmental and safety concerns.
Poor public transport links - proposal will increase traffic.
Diverse wildlife population, including bats, the proposals will destroy their natural habitats.
Road flooding is a major issue during heavy rainfall, the proposal will further exacerbate this issue by removing fields.
Dental appointments and GP appointments are impossible, more residents will make this worse.
Schools over-subscribed and no local secondary school, so authority need to provide transportation.
On the county boundary, so struggle to get a response from emergency services.

development between Dorridge and Hockley Heath runs counter to purpose b of the green belt; prevent neighbouring towns merging into one another. The proposed development would be detrimental to several red-listed birds.

Hockley Heath has no doctor.
The junior school reached capacity many years ago.
There are 2 small supermarkets, but these might not be enough to support the proposed development, encouraging people into their cars to visit larger supermarkets elsewhere.

Solihull MBC has already built up to the county line. It is relying on Warwickshire to avoid urban sprawl through us maintaining our Green Belt protection. None of the Northern cluster of proposed sites SG22, 23 or 24 should be developed until other options outside Green Belt have been exhausted elsewhere in South Warwickshire.

The development shown on the map is all in Warwickshire, but the main part of the village of Hockley Heath is in Solihull/West Midlands. New housing in the Warwickshire plan will need infrastructure provided by another authority. This seems like a recipe for endless delay, or possibly no action at all.

Fields south of Aylesbury Road drain into two streams which flow under Vicarage road near the junction with glasshouse lane. Water also flows off the fields onto Aylesbury Road, though there is a drain that should catch some of it. The drain flows into a ditch on Vicarage road. These have lead to flooding along Vicarage Road. Building on these fields, together with the associated roads, will lead to greater run-off, increasing the risk of flooding, not for the new houses but for other areas.

I strongly object to the Strategic Growth Plan which, if implemented, would change the character of Hockley Heath for ever,
significantly exacerbate existing infrastructure shortfalls, provide no benefit to people living in the neighbouring authority of Solihull, and, indeed, be detrimental to the lives of so many.

Much of the land offered up is on Green Belt or is farmland.
Some of the proposed areas outside of village (Cut Throat Lane, Saddlers Wells Lane, Ashford Lane) have no pavement, no street lighting, no mains sewage, no mains gas or fibre/reliable broadband.
The same areas are not on a public transport route, there is no doctors, pharmacy, sufficient schools in Hockley Heath to support a much bigger population.
Many of the areas experience flooding on a regular basis in heavy or prolonged rain.
Clay soil does not help with drainage

Development of this site would overwhelm the existing road network. The B4439 - A34 junction is already an accident waiting to happen at peak times. Where would all the extra school children and doctor's patients be accommodated? I am also very concerned about the loss of green belt land, hedgerows and woodland, plus potential removal of historic features on the canal network e.g. the bridge in Wharf Lane.
Loss of this site to housing would reduce biodiversity, increase air pollution and impact on the well-being of existing residents of Hockley Heath and Lapworth.

I have several points to raise
There would be significant pressure added to Hospital and emergency services such as Police and Fire protection.
waiting times to see a Doctor would increase and a waiting list for local Dentists.
increased pollution due to increased traffic also noise and light pollution.
More highway maintenance and cost during build of houses and after construction
More cost to local Authority council tax rise
Social housing incorporated who controls it
current public transport in area is poor how will it cope
current area is a village this proposal will change area for ever

My family chose to live in Hockley Health for its rural location, scenic views and its village community, which all have a positive impact on my mental and physical well-being.
I am not convinced the well-being needs of the existing residents have been fully considered, or the environmental impacts. The volume of new properties being proposed under the SW plan will urbanise the area, thus impacting significantly on,
- the wildlife that thrive in this area
- conservation, trees and scenery
- traffic, pollution and noise
- local infrastructure
- physical activity and mental well-being opportunities (walking, cycling, green spaces).

Main Objections to Development SG24:
Effect on character of the village
Disproportionate to current size of village, population would be more than doubled
Increased risk of flooding and exacerbation of existing surface water issues
Lack of secondary school, existing primary school full to capacity
No train station, Increased reliance on cars
Access roads to existing roads would increase traffic congestion to dangerous level
Loss of wildlife habitats including woodland
Contradiction with SMBC's Local Plan
Cumulative impact of developments within Solihull must be considered
Lack of shops and healthcare facilities
Lack of economic justification, Hockley Heath has limited employment opportunities

The character of Hockley Heath would be completely undermined. This is a small village, the reason my husband and I moved here. A development of the proposed size would alter the character of our small village, thereby altering its distinctiveness beyond recognition.
Solihull MBC have already determined that only small scale development is appropriate here. A far more sensible decision, taking into account the far wider implications that a larger scale alternative would have on the community, of which there are many!
Drainage issues, lack of secondary school provision, poor public transport links, traffic congestion to name but a few.

I would like to make representation to the concerns of the South Warwickshire Local Plan. I oppose Hockley Heath Group (SG24) as a strategic growth Location in the South Warwickshire Local Plan. My concerns are as follows: 1. Lack of school provision. 2. Lack of Public Transport Links. 3.Character of the village which completely change. 4. Traffic congestion will significantly increase in a village which already has issues with speeding and heavy vehicles. 5. Environmental impacts and harming wildlife habitats.. 6. Local amenities, such as shops, healthcare facilities, leisure services, doctors, etc for wellbeing.

Hockley Heath is a beautiful semi rural village - it does not have the infastructure to cope with large development of housing and associated traffic & pollution. There are insufficient schools & GP surgeries to cope with such a high influx of residents. Such a large development will impact on surrounding areas including Earlswood as well as Tanworth in Arden known for its historical character. The roads simply will not be able to cope. You only have to look at current traffic congestion to see the the awful/inconvenient impact of existing new housing in the adjacent area.

All SGA24 fields in Warwickshire
Everything has to be agreed and coordinated with Solihull. Existing infrastructure is poor and more developments will require big investment. Who will pay and what will be provided?
M42 should remain boundary of urban sprawl towards Hockley Heath. Will Solihull preserve it
Lapworth Parishioners very concerned about access to and capacity of Warwick Hospital if large new numbers anywhere in area.
Traffic increases will be problem. Access to M40 South? Need to avoid it becoming rat-run

Some logic to it as close to motorways, airport, job potential. However urban spread from Solihull needs to be stopped somewhere and M42 is obvious place. GPs, schools, hospital, flooding, traffic all problems in Hockley Heath already so how will large new developments work there? Who will pay for it all - Warwickshire or Solihull? Has to be well coordinated and agreed in advance if not to be a disaster

I object to the development of the Hockley Heath region on a number of grounds. Firstly, this area is a small village and we haven't got the infrastructure to support such a large development of houses. The village experiences significant flooding of the main road. The school is full and I understand that the secondary schools are full too. When the motorway closes we have significant traffic through the village, which continues through the night. We do not have a doctors surgery in the village and rely on Dorridge - which is full.

HockleyHeath a small friendly community threatened by the scale of this proposal.
Local services are limited, an oversubscribed school that cannot be expanded, no doctor, police (crime will increase), pharmacy, bank. Together with a poor infrastructure, occasional bus service, no trains and with no local employment, a car is essential.
Emergency services split across two authorities?
Roads are already very congested - large periods of the day exacerbated by motorway issues, traffic is at a standstill. Traffic flow would be a major problem.
Insufficient drainage frequently results in flooding (Stratford and Aylesbury) with raw sewerage flowing up through drains.

Hockley Heath has a vibrant comminity within the village and SG24 would expand it so much it would lose its identity and community spirit. It is also greenbelt land which maintains the rural gap.
Also these rural roads are already too busy and SG24 would add to accidents.
Also it is prone to flooding which will be made worse.
If this went ahead SWC would need to give money to Solihull to expand the services , schools, doctors.
Also This is contrary to the Solihull local plan to allow small scale development only.
