I object to the proposal for SG07 to cover fields north west of Warwick alongside the A46 and Birmingham Road A4177. This is agricultural land in the green belt and is essential to the prevention of merging of Warwick with Hatton Park and Hatton. The green belt along the A46 and between Warwick and Coventry is one of the West Midland Green Belt's 'thinnest' points and removal of this land will create a westward connurbation - especially if New Development B1 is successful.

Unsuitable due to massive increase in road congestion for many years at Stanks Island and all surrounding road junctions in the area. Consequent huge negative impact on emergency services access in the whole area. Negative impact on tourism in Warwick. I strongly object to this proposal.

REFID 363 - Wedgnock Park Farm - OBJECT
Road infrastructure inadequate to accommodate significant increases of traffic of employess and associated large goods, and articulated lorries. Site access too close to traffic light junction, Hampton Magna/A46 access and egress. Existing congestion accessing/exiting A46 during peak communiting hours (morning/evening) with access to the proposed SG07 likley to cause further congestion due to traffic queing to access and egress the island. Congestion will be exaberated with the volume of traffic from the prorosed Hatton development 8000 homes. Increased rat run traffic on roads not adequate to accommodate LGVs and increased traffic volumes.

This location is made up entirely of greenbelt land and should therefore be protected from development. No homes should be being built on green belt land as a part of this SWLP, when there are other sites available!

Terrible waste of valuable agricultural land. Goes against the following draft SWLP policies
- Preserving Agricultural Land,
- Protecting and Enhancing Landscape Character,
- Trees, Hedges and Woodland.
SG07 includes areas of established woodland and hedges - housing a wide range of wildlife which would be irrevocably lost.
There are business parks nearby - Tournament Fields, Budbrooke Industrial Estate, and Wedgnock Industrial Estate. The road network locally cannot cope with more industrial vehicles - already frequent gridlock into Warwick. The A4177 is busy and already dangerous for pedestrians and local traffic. A46 slip road backs up onto the main carriageway.

Since the Town and Country Planning Act allowed green belt proposals in development plans, green belt allocations have served the nation well. SG07 continues to fulfil the current stated purposes of green belt land:
• check the unrestricted sprawl of large built-up areas
• prevent neighbouring towns merging into one another
• assist in safeguarding the countryside from encroachment
• preserve the setting and special character of historic towns
• assist in urban regeneration, by encouraging the recycling of derelict and other urban land.
The Government attaches great importance to Green Belts. SG07 clearly meets all five of the criteria.

This development will impact negatively on the traffic/Stanks roundabout/A46and aces to A46.
Traffic queues are frequent when coming off or joining the A46 with nose to tail traffic frequently. Roads accessing this development are at full capacity now. Heavy lorries will impact on raod safety and use of cycle/ pedestrian paths.
Loss of green belt land and footpaths running over this area. Will impact adversely on the character of this area which is rural
Will have a detrimental visual impact on this area which is primarily residential
Increased air pollution causing health issues. Plus additional noise/ smell with increased traffic.

Road network is not sufficient for the size of the proposed development. Rail network would need upgrade and there is no space or capacity to do this. Countryside is being ruined and the local infrastructure ie hospital, schools, roads are not equipped to cope wth the demand.

This plot is not suitable for warehousing, causing significant issues with the transport network in the local area. The A46 is already gridlocked at rush hour, with the A4177 also being extremely busy. Extra pollution generated from the number of HGV's entering this space, in what is already a heavily polluted county, backed up by a recent news article and my GP [text redacted].
Losing our valuable green space and destroying trees and natural habitat, with the trees being a key factor in fighting pollution.
Noise pollution overnight, hauliers working shifts etc.

The A4177/A46 interchange is at full capacity at peak times causing delays in and out of Warwick town centre and would certainly need major upgrades if SG07 were to be developed.
The M40/A46 interchange reaches capacity during peak times, causing queues which regularly tail back onto the M40.

LSP7 and 8 protect separation between Lillington/Leamington and Cubbington village. Cubbington will lose it's village identity and become subsumed into Leamington. One of the key purposes of the green belt, which should be retained. This will also make Lillington without the clear separation a big sprawl across into Cubbington. There aren't sufficient facilities e.g. GP, secondary schooling. There is one road into Leam/south leam where all supermarkets are which already gets very congested.

Connectivity - either via Stanks Junction to the A46 - already at capacity according to the Transport Report, or via a new junction on the A46 which would be the 4th within 6k
Loss of important Green Belt protecting Warwick and the amenity and health benefit of access to this open countryside for local residents.
If site B1 were also selected, the combined impact on congestion, water and power infrastructure, pollution and air quality, and environment and biodiversity would not be sustainable
Additional info from emailed rep 03/03/2025:
This 169Ha site, in the green belt would, if developed for commercial purposes, join the built-up urban spread of Warwick/Leamington with Hatton Park, and if also developed, the New Town at Hatton. This would contravene four of the five stated purposes of the Green Belt.
As with Site B1, development of the site would deprive residents of Warwick and Leamington the Health enhancing benefit of leisure. exercise and access to nature and the countryside.
Arguments in relation to Sustainability, Transport and other Infrastructure, Biodiversity and Environmental damage and maintaining the beauty of South Warwickshire stated above in connection with Site B1 apply equally to this site.

When looking at the map it is quite clear that SG07 joins up with the proposed new settlement identified as B1. This is totally unacceptable as it creates a sprawl which would join SG07 and B1 to Warwick town. Currently, this area is not at all well served by road infrastructure. Traffic would become much heavier around the area on roads with limited capacity. It is also quite clear that there would be extremely high costs attached to further developing the road networks and junctions to try to mitigate congestion. There are already traffic queues at Stanks Island.

This area is completely wrong for this kind of development, the Stanks roundabout on the A46 is already incredibly busy at peak times and cannot handle the significant extra traffic that this site would generate. Along with this, this land is green belt and would be a massive environmental disaster if it were concreted over.

Too much pressure on road infrastructure, doctors, schools. No employment locally. Warwick already has more commitment and less need than Stratford. Local villages and roads cannot support closure on a46 or traffic bottlenecks as it is. No need for green belt site expansion. Needles wildlife impact and the drainage and water runoff is a terrible problem already this would only put pressure on this. Not enough local amenities for villages as it is. Especially in hampton magna. Why wreck green belt when there are plenty of urban options it makes no sense.

Inappropriate use of green belt land when other sites are available. Negative effect on wildlife and water system and drains with drastic climate change evident. Irresponsible when there are currently not enough amenities like doctors, schools, shops as it is for local villages. Jobs are not local. Stratford has less commitment and more need. Roads and traffic are awful as it is. Flooding closed the a46 and gridlocked local roads this year. No laws to protect current locals by holding no developers to account to build more amenities, drainage schools and doctors shops. Irresponsible use of green belt

A4177 and Stanks island can't cope with the increased traffic levels even after the recent upgrades, let alone with any increase in housing or business. This site is NOT suitable for a distribution site with associated large vehicles.
Valuable Green Belt and agricultural land.
Long term the site is restricted from further expansion by the A4177, A46 and Hatton Park.
Access to the site is limited, either though Warwick or A46- both of which would entail negotiating the already busy Stanks island which is not ideal for day to day workforce or workplace deliveries.

I object to the proposed development of the Wedgnock Park Farm Employment Group (SG07) due to the following concerns:
Green Belt Encroachment: The 141-hectare site falls within the Green Belt, and developing it contradicts national policies aimed at preventing urban sprawl and preserving open spaces.
Infrastructure Strain: The proposed development could exacerbate congestion on the A46 and surrounding roads, as the area may lack the infrastructure to support increased traffic.
Environmental Impact: Developing this area could harm local biodiversity and disrupt existing ecosystems.
I urge the planning authorities to reconsider this proposal in light of these concerns.

The over use of farmland and green belt. again losing the habitat of birds and mammals in well established hedges and trees that are taken out by be developers, to increase their space to build.
With traffic coming off SG07 site, onto the Birmingham/Warwick road there will be grid lock into Warwick, even now, with so much traffic on this road, coming off the M40 or/and A46. It will be a disaster waiting to happen.
I object to the development of the site SG07.

I object to the proposed development due to:-
1. Significant removal of Green Belt Land: affecting urban sprawl, impacting the countryside its wildlife & community.
2. Infrastructure Strain: impacting schools, healthcare and especially the road network.
3. Environmental concerns: reducing biodiversity and natural habitats.
4. Increased Traffic & Pollution: increasing emissions by increased congestion, pollution and removal of local food production.
5. Community impact: a disproportionate development based on current size, altering the social fabric and character: impacting the wider community’s enjoyment of the area resulting in a significant deterioration of their wellbeing.
6. Exacerbated by the proposed B1 development.

This is Green Belt land for farming / wood land / nature . The position of this development would require a new junction on the A46 which is at capacity in the rush hour to the junction M40 / A429 . A junction on the A4177 would further compound the problem with traffic trying to entre Warwick district . It would also create additional problems on lanes and roads close to the vicinity , mainly old budbrooke road / Wedgnock lane . This is over-development with no consideration to the present infrastructure .
