Stop building sprawling car-dependent suburbia. You are killing people with these decisions. Cars kill people, stop making people have to get in their cars to get to places. Build high density walkable neighbourhoods with active travel infrastructure.
Paint is not cycling infrastructure.
Buses are bad public transport.
Don't build any detached houses.

The very varid commercial sucess of Stratford with jobs in the tourism sector along with financial jobs and good connections to the town centre make this a sustainable proposition. Excellent cultural and hospital facilities. Good road links.

East of Stratford (Tiddington) – OBJECT: SG19 Significant harm to the character of the landscape, overdevelopment of the area, lack of rail connectivity, lack of road infrastructure, significant increase in traffic movements, impacting local roads around Loxley, Charlecote and Hampton Lucy as well as Wellesbourne and A429.

I have several objections regarding the proposed housing developments. Firstly, the environmental impact would worsen pollution and noise levels. Traffic and parking issues would escalate, further straining local schools that are already full. Wellesbourne has significantly expanded without adequate amenities for a town. Additionally, the risk of flooding would increase due to more impermeable surfaces, and the current SUDS scheme has proven ineffective, discharging polluted water into the River Dene. Finally, the development would encroach on valuable farmland, undermining our goal of self-sufficiency in food production.

I am writing to object to the proposal to develop the land on Luddington Road, close to the Evesham Road. SG19 for the following reasons:
- increased risk of flooding in already flood prone gardens/ properties by Shottery Brook
- loss of natural habitat and wildlife corridors
- increased light pollution impacting homes nearby
- loss of productive agricultural land

I live in Tiddington and having studied the local plan for South Warwickshire I wish to register my objections.
This development would significantly harm the character of the landscape.
There is overdevelopment of the area already.
There is a lack of rail connectivity.
There is an appalling lack of road infrastructure and maintenance.
There would be significant increase in traffic impacting the B4086 both from development in Tiddington and that proposed for Wellesbourne.
This would also compromise the bottleneck that is Clopton bridge.
The doctors, dentists and schools serving the area are already oversubscribed with no current plans to address this matter.
The village of Tiddington has retained a separate identity from Stratford upon Avon through the establishment of a ‘strategic gap’ of un-developed land, which SDC has taken into consideration when assessing planning applications. This must remain in place.

I strongly object to Option SG19, which proposes substantial growth to the southeast of Stratford upon Avon. The consultation lacks clarity on the amount and type of development, which could significantly impact the area. I am concerned about the proposed 5,500 units, the employment levels, and the necessary infrastructure. Without a clear plan for a relief road and other infrastructure, SG19 is not a credible option. Additionally, relying on Clopton Bridge for increased traffic is unacceptable, given its current congestion and status as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

I believe this would cause significant harm to the character of the landscape and lead to the overdevelopment of the area. We have already accommodated four new housing developments over the last few years with no addition to or improvement of infrastructure.
There is a lack of rail connectivity in the area and inadequate road infrastructure. The new developments in the area have already led to increased traffic and difficulty getting around, impacting local roads (B4086) and also around Alveston, Loxley, Charlecote, Hampton Lucy as well as Wellesbourne (A429). It also takes longer to cross the river as there are only 2 crossings which are severely congested at peak times.
Local schools, doctors and dentists are already at capacity.
The village of Tiddington has retained a separate identity from Stratford Upon Avon through the establishment of a strategic gap of undeveloped land. This distinction should continue to apply but the proposals would erode this.

Major objections for even more houses because :
1) roads systems are inadequate and already gridlocked with too much traffic volume and will get worse with any more development -particularly now long marston village is under way. The so called bypass from Evesham Road to Alcester Road was promised with the new development but that hasn’t happened!
2) infrastructure alteady at breaking point- schools oversubscribed ; nhs; doctors; no NHS dentists anymore; few jobs etc etc and a failing town and high st
3) Stratford is already over developed and populated the strain on the town will be irreversible

As a local resident I have concern over the proposed future Housing .
I feel that there insufficient infrastructure in place . Some of the development is in Green belt areas. This will have an impact on woods hedges and trees, therefore wildlife
These proposals feel like overdeveloped of a rural area. That already suffers from flooding and traffic congestion .

This area SG19 is a regular space to enjoy the countryside and to walk your dog, if this area is developed on there would be no open space locally where we can all meet up in a safe field, have a chat and watch the dogs enjoy themselves.
Please do not take this away from us. I have lived in Stratford all my life and have seen a lot of changes. If the developers wish to develop, they could make a real difference in the town centre, developing the empty shops into flats.
It makes me so cross to see how Stratford, which is supposed to be of natural heritage is being ruined by over development on both sides of the bridge.

Such developments would urbanise these areas, resulting in significant harm to the general character of the landscapes, and have an overall detrimental effect. Wellesbourne has expanded considerably over recent years, without infrastructure to meet the demand on all services in the village. Medical services, dentists and educational facilities are heavily subscribed, and there is an existing and increasing traffic and parking problem in Wellesbourne. This is all too apparent near the school in Mountford Close, where there is no effective traffic management, drivers regularly ignore road markings, park on footways, resort to driving along footways when meeting head on vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, plus use any resident's drive as a turning point. Also, a driver travelling in the opposite direction to the main stream of traffic, opting to reverse back down Mountford Close towards the main school gate/road junction amongst parked and moving traffic ,food waste bins, parents and children making their way to the main school gate. The Newbold Road in Wellesbourne is also often clogged with parked and moving traffic. To introduce more through traffic to Wellesbourne would create even greater congestion, and is untenable.

I object to SG19 on fields opposite trinity mead road because we are losing more and more green space to development on the outskirts of town. The southern roads cannot deal with the traffic which will get worse if more houses are built. Infrastructure and services within town are inadequate with no NHS dentist provision, GP waits, and reduced employment not helped by local businesses closing.
I have been on the waiting list for over a decade for an allotment. You can't find space for allotments yet you can for housing? I live south of the river and have to battle getting into town regardless of route. I have lived in Stratford for over 20 years and the infrastructure and services keep getting worse as they can't can't cope with the housing we have, never mind building more on the outskirts used by many people including myself for quiet walks.

I believe the SG19 proposals should be deleted from the Policy. There are other strategic locations east of Stratford-upon-Avon:
1. Wellesbourne
2.Gaydon
3. East of Stoneleigh Abbey, which are far more economically viable to develop and would be capable of being delivered at a timescale. The infrastructure required to develop SG19 would include a bridge over the Avon. Furthermore, the congestion caused to our historic and enchanting town would be considerable to residents, business and tourism.

I would like to object to the development of the land labelled SG19 near Trinity Mead.
Impact on Local Wildlife: The area identified for the proposed development is home to a number of species that are of significant environmental value. The development of new houses threatens to disrupt their natural habitat, which could lead to a decline in biodiversity. This area is an important sanctuary for [insert specific wildlife, e.g., rare bird species, bats, amphibians, etc.], and I am concerned that the construction and increased human activity will irreparably damage these delicate ecosystems. It is essential that proper wildlife impact assessments are conducted, and more consideration is given to preserving the natural environment and the species that depend on it. I would also be concerned about drainage into the brook from any new development and the effect this would have on the wildlife. The brook is an ancient waterway that naturally floods and is a haven for wildlife.
Traffic and Safety Concerns: Traffic in the area is already at a problematic level, with congestion during peak hours causing delays and concerns for safety. Adding more housing would only exacerbate these issues, putting further strain on local infrastructure and road networks. The increase in vehicles would also heighten the risk of accidents, especially in an area that is not designed to accommodate additional traffic volumes. Furthermore, the development's potential to increase pedestrian and cyclist activity raises concerns regarding safe access to schools, parks, and local shops. The traffic would increase and there is already absolute gridlock in the mornings with cars trying to cross the traffic island by the Shell Garage. There are cars coming from Meon Vale along the Shipston Road causing queues in the morning up to the Waitrose Island. The traffic backs up down the Banbury Road with cars trying to come from Tiddington and prior to that around the gyratory.
Insufficient Infrastructure: In addition to the traffic concerns, the surrounding area lacks the necessary infrastructure to support an influx of new residents. Local schools, healthcare services, and public transport systems are already stretched, and it is unclear how the development would address these gaps.
For these reasons, I strongly urge the planning committee to reject this proposal or consider alternative solutions that will better protect the local wildlife and improve the infrastructure before additional housing is built. I trust the committee will take these issues into careful consideration during the decision-making process.
Thank you for your attention to these important matters. I look forward to your response.

I do not agree with this strategic growth location for the following reasons:
1. Tiddington is close to Stratford Town which in the 24 Housing Survey of new houses built per 10,000 population was top of the list. In 2024 considerably more new builds were built. This has put strain on the infrastructure and it is very difficult to drive from Tiddington to Stratford, more houses built in SG19 will make the congestion worse, with increased strain on schools, GP clinics etc. Clopton Bridge would not be able to cope with the increased traffic.
2. Building new houses in Tiddington could exacerbate flooding due to the proximity of the River Avon. I have lived in Tiddington for the past 35 years and the River Avon at the bottom of my garden floods throughout the year.
3. Any future development needs to be south of Stratford as the poor infrastructure already makes it difficult to meet appointments and urgent meetings in the town.
4. Land highlighted as part of SG19 between the new development in Loxley Rd / Knights Lane and Townsend Road has been designated in the Neighbourhood Development Plan as being the Strategic Gap between Tiddington and Stratford.

We have identified one or more proposed development sites as being crossed or in close proximity to National Gas Transmission assets.
Details of the sites affecting National Gas Transmission assets are provided below.
Gas Transmission Pipeline, route: CHURCHOVER TO WORMINGTON
Without appropriate acknowledgement of the National Gas Transmission assets present within the site, these policies should not be considered effective as they cannot be delivered as proposed; unencumbered by the constraints posed by the presence of National Gas Transmission infrastructure.
We propose that future Local Plan policies in respect of the affected proposed allocations and new settlements include a policy strand that incorporates wording to
the following effect:
“The development will demonstrate a clear strategy for responding to the National Gas Transmission high-pressure gas pipelines present within the site which provides evidence on how the National Gas Transmission Design Guide and Principles have been applied at
the masterplanning stage and how the impact of the assets has been reduced through good design.”
It is requested that this wording is either incorporated into site specific policies for the ten affected sites, or included within the general policy text if site-specific policies are not
incorporated in later versions of the emerging South Warwickshire Local Plan.
