I believe new developments are the best option for meeting house needs as necessary infrastructure is more easily accommodated although this option would need to explore suitable connections to the main road network such as A46 and a potential bypass of Stratford upon Avon which already struggles with existing traffic volumes.

New settlement will have good road connections in place, maybe new rail station, good job opportunities close by and can meet all housing needs with least impact on envirenmnet and greenbelt land. Would take traffic congestion away from Stratford.

This area already includes a number of recent developments, which, unfortunately, were planned very poorly. The inclusion of this site is an opportunity to improve the recent developments through building proper access links and infrastructure, whilst also providing new housing and employment opportunities in this new plan.

This site would be suitable for housing development if the railway line between Stratford upon Avon and Honeybourne was re-opened as this would make it much more sustainable with regards to transport.

We agree that E1 proposal is a more suitable location for large scale additional housing and it is not within green belt, unlike the BW proposal which is entirely within green belt.
This area has already got large scale development of housing in progress as part of a ‘new town’. If more houses do need to be built in a large number, this area would make more sense than some of the other proposals.

Building new settlements could deliver the housing needed with the necessary infrastructure, amenities, doctors and schools thereby reducing the need to build ad hoc on the edges of towns and villages where the infrastructure can't be added retrospectively.

With the right provision of infrastructure this location would be preferable. It is of a size to get the correct level of community facilities such as schools ,health provision, shops etc. This should be combined with a river crossing at the south of Welford to connect to the primary road network, A46, M40, M5

As per previous comments, new settlements present opportunity for strategic design rather than haphazardly adding to congestion, overcrowding, negatively impacting existing settlements and its infrastructure that is more difficult to improve. Much less impact overall in terms of urban sprawl and the negative impact of the unique settings/character of existing areas. Development should be strategic and be best for all - not just because it would be of financial benefit to the few. For a new settlement, the number of dwellings required can be built with room for the necessary infrastructure to be provided alongside.

I agree with the New Settlements proposal as this would then mean there is the opportunity to offer better facilities for the new build rather than putting pressure on the existing infrastructure which is already stretched - doctors, dentists, schools, local shops. I feel the new settlement near Warwick Gates has been set up well with facilities and Long Marston Airfield has space to develop and also potential good links with the A46 without increasing congestion in Stratford Town centre at commuting times.

The 40+% increase in the population of South Warwickshire will require a new District General Hospital with A&E facilities.
This should logically situated between the existing - Warwick, Banbury and Cheltenham, and this would be the appropriate site

Better to put an isolated hole in the Green Belt near transport links than induce sprawl of larger towns towards each other.

A new settlement at Long Marston would be more suitable as it would take the pressure off an already congested Stratford. It would meet all the housing needs which would preserve Green belt land. It would avoid urban sprawl which would have an impact on existing infrastructure. With the space and number of houses built it would mean schools, doctors etc could be included.

Development of this site has already started, further expansion would warrant inclusion of the necessary infrastructure which would be to the benefit of the settlement inhabitants.
If the railway line from Stratford Upon Avon to Long Marston is reinstated and connected to Honeybourne Station, this could facilitate rail links to London, Birmingham and Leamington.

A large number of houses are already being built in this area and if it was designated a new settlement the necessary infrastructure could be provided. A river crossing could be built across the shortest section of the flood plain which would link up with the A46 with access to good roads and employment opportunities in Leamington, Coventry, Redditch. The A46 directly links to the Midlands motorways ie the M5, M40, M6, M69

I support the idea of new settlements to avoid excessive development edge of town/villages placing too much strain on the existing already over stretched infrastructure and a bypass and river crossing to the west of Stratford makes the most sense, one which should link directly to the A46 and major strategic road network. Additionally although not an option the rail link between Startford and Honeybourne must be re instated with a station at Long Marston as once existed in the past.

This proposed site would be a good place for a new settlement as it is in a rural landscape but it has the advantage of using a brownfield site. This complies with the NPPF rules regarding Green Belt.

ew settlements are preferred and this site will offer good job opportunities nearby which will support local communities as well as having good existing road connections. The development will improve transport links including the rail innovation centre connecting to the Honeybourne line.
New settlements can be driven by strategic opportunities not land availability to limit impact on the local ecology.
The site would take the congestion pressure off Stratford and meet all housing needs with least impact on the environment, preserving greenbelt land. Number of houses and space available means infrastructure like schools and docters can be built.
