The proposed development threatens protected Green Belt land without exceptional justification, contradicting NPPF guidelines. It lacks a clear boundary, increasing urban sprawl and merging villages. The site has low housing capacity and would lead to the loss of productive farmland. It is not a sustainable 20-minute neighbourhood, with overstretched local services, inadequate foul drainage, and limited employment. Increased traffic on unsuitable roads poses safety risks, particularly for cyclists. It negatively impacts landscape quality, historic views from Kenilworth Castle, and biodiversity. Site selection should not be dictated by developer convenience but by sound planning principles.

Greenbelt should always be protected and should only be developed in exceptional circumstances.
Local infrastructure is already bursting at the seams in Kenilworth.
No new doctors, dentists, shops or schools have been bult on the east side of Kenilworth.
The roads around Warwick Road, Birches Lane and Rouncil Lane are often grid locked especially first thing in the morning. This will get worse with 1200 more new homes.

SG04 represents a further unsustainable development to Kenilworth, degrading its environment and conflicting with the stated goals in the plan. Kenilworth is already struggling with the amount of new housing which has escalated traffic problems - lack of plans to avoid car use, no provision of additional public transport - while also failing to provide supporting infrastructure (schools, clinics, etc). Any further impact on the green corridors between local communities cannot be sustained, especially with the impact of HS2 to the north.

Rounds Hill and Rouncil Lane is part of the National Cycle Route 52. Cyclists would face increased danger from extra volume of traffic along this route. The 20 minute neighbourhood requirement would not be met with development of SG04. No Dentist, no GP or transport. No exceptional circumstances to justify removal of Green Belt as per NPPF. Developers preferences in selecting sites to develop should not be considered for ease and cheapness. Considerable increase in traffic along single road ( Rouncil Lane) and already used by Articulated HGVs from abattoir would be hazardous. Biodiversity severely compromised. Lost countryside and nature.

Current residential developments in Kenilworth(3722); the proposed additional number of houses cannot be supported.
Green Belt land must be protected.
SG4 area has the second lowest housing capacity yield of all spatial growth areas resulting in the loss of good agricultural land(grade 2)
There would be need for additional GP’s, Dentists, transport parking facilities, services and schools.
Current traffic levels in Kenilworth are beginning to reach critical levels at morning/evening rush hours.
Re-engineering of current residential roadways providing widening, local parking provision etc.
Beyond the deristiction signs, new main and local roads will be necessary to the abattoir (1.5 miles).

Leamington has already exploded in the past five years. The roads are jammed, the services are overstretched and the vast housing developements and population explosion is changimg the character of the area and making it unpleasant. Infrastructure cannot cope with all the new 29,000 homes being concentrated in a few massive developments in the area particularly south Leamington and Whitnash which is gridlocked. These houses need to be fully dispersed across the whole of warwickshire with every town and village taking a handful of them. This woudl be a fairer, more sustainable appproach as the infratrusture wil alsways play catch-up.

It is part of the Forest of Arden Special Lanscape Area & should be protected to maintain the views from Kenilworth Castle. Houses built would significantly impact the Setting of the Castle a Grade 1 Listed building,as they would be seen from the castle.. The area is on clay & there is significant surface water. This floods the fields, flows into the roads, the water from the old brickworks flows into an underground culvert into Rouncil Lane. The fields produces arable crops regularly including Barley. There are Veteren Oaks, old hedges which are maintained. The wildlife regularly seen include Barn Owls,Yellowhammers, Skylarks,Tree Sparrow,Hares

SG04 South of Kenilworth the area floods and has an enormous amount of surface water most of the Autumn & Winter. Due to the open nature of the fields any building will be visible from Kenilworth Castle a Grade 1 listed building & a scheduled monument and significantly impact its setting. There is a lack of transport in this area as there is no regular bus route only Indie go. Access to Kenilworth would be via Rouncil Lane which would meanmore cars on the roads.

No further development next to the existing built up area of Kenilworth. The current housing developments are already too much for the existing infrastructure [roads, local centres etc] and there is insufficient land to remedy this. It will not be possible to create 20 minute neighborhoods.

Kenilworth is struggling with the amount of people who live here.Traffic is busy, many cars are parked on the road with pollution increasing. It’s only a matter of time before accidents happen due to increased traffic flow and negative effect of the delays on the residents starts to take hold. There are new build sites still in development with plots unsold. Green areas are disappearing, with the closure of parts of Abbey fields the town is feeling claustrophobic. The school is oversubscribed . There must be other areas with resources to focus on vs pushing this historical town to its limit.

Kenilworth amenities and infrastructure are already not able to meet demands of the current population.
Development of this site will generate significant traffic flows with very few options for traffic especially in peak travel times - many roads in the area already have cars parked on them, new developments with restricted parking space may well result in overflow on existing roads.
Development would result in significant additional on Rouncil Lane, a road which I frequently cycle on - cyclists are frequently not respected.
Development of non green belt sites should be a higher priority.
Countryside should be a treasured resource.

Valuable Green Belt land will be destroyed, this should be protected for future generations. Ancient hedgerows, trees, well used footpaths, farmland, and space between Leek Wootton will destroyed. The view from Kenilworth Castle, a Grade 1 listed building will be significantly destroyed. All GPs, dentists and schools are already over subscribed and over stretched due to the current house building in Kenilworth. There are no local bus services for the proposed site meaning a significant increase in traffic on already busy local roads. The cycle route 52 would become less safe due to this increase in traffic.

SG04 is a southward expansion of Kenilworth into the Green Belt. This with the upward expansion of Warwick with the proposed Loes Farm development Ref 93 and the potential sites within Leek Wootton leads to an urbanised corridor between the towns. It is a further unnecessary erosion of green belt which is primarily there to avoid such linking urbanisation and to ensure separation between Urban Centres. There is sufficient brownfield and other lands available to serve the housing needs. In addition when completed HS2 will release land which it currently occupies for construction but is not required for operational needs.

Green belt land should be protected. No exceptional circumstances to justify removal of green belt in accordance with NPPF. Other sites far more suitable. Loss of productive farmland. Not 20-minute neighbourhood. Reduces access to countryside. Selection of sites should not be influenced by Developers preference for easy & cheap to develop sites. Harm to historic landscape & setting. Of 24 Spatial Growth areas identified in the plan, 12 are non-green belt land, 2 are mixed designation, and 10 are entirely green belt. The area required to meet South Warwickshire’s housing needs can be fulfilled without taking any green belt.

No. In particular plots 140 and 183 should not be included:
-The land is Green Belt and retains all the historical and biodiversity characteristics of the “Forest of Arden Special Landscape Area”.
-The area north of Rouncil Lane is on top of the hill and clearly visible from Kenilworth Castle. Housing would destroy the view from, and significantly impact the setting of, the Castle.
-The land once formed part of the Castle deer park. Housing would destroy the remaining earthworks and any other historical remains.
-The public right of way that connects southwest Kenilworth to the countryside would largely disappear.

No exceptional circumstances to justify removal of greenbelt or physical boundary for redesignation. Other sites far more suitable. Reduce gap between Kenilworth and Leek Wootton/Beausale and extend Kenilworth boundary into countryside. Removal of active farmland.
Sustainability Report – SG04 is area with the 2nd lowest housing capacity yield of all spatial growth areas.
Local amentities overstretched and schools full.
Arden Special Landscape Area with historical significance as part of Kenilworth’s castle “Olde Parke”. Important views and openness across to Kenilworth castle.

This is Green Belt land. It would massively extend the boundary of Kenilworth and start to encroach on Leek Wootton. The traffic through Kenilworth is already impossible and the doctors and hospitals are already beyond capacity. How could this possibly be considered as a strategic growth location? Are we completely trying to ruin our countryside and our towns? There is massive development going on within Kenilworth, shouldn't this be the limit of what the town and surrounding countryside can cope with? Will we have any green fields left in Warwickshire?

I dispair at the increase in housing in the area. Already the infra structure is not adequate for new housing. Poor roads especially Rouncil Lane, schools oversubscribed, doctors surgeries also at breacking point, as yet we have not experieced water shortages in the area but with much more demand with new houses already built where does the water supply come from to sustain new demand. We're asked to keep our gardens 'green' for plant and wildlife yet building vast areas of housing will annihilate green belt areas that sustain such an important part of our bio diversity.

Protect Green Belt. No exceptional circumstances for its removal in line with NPPF.
Other sites much more suitable.
Undermines purpose of green belt stopping settlements merging.
SG04 has 2nd lowest housing capacity yield of all spatial growth areas.
Loss of productive farmland.
Services overstretched/oversubscribed, e.g. medical, schools, and none within 20 minutes.
Inadequate drainage on Rouncil Lane.
Significant adverse effect on access to countryside, affecting mental/physical wellbeing of community.
Negative impact on landscape - views and openness to Kenilworth Castle.
Loss of biodiversity.
Too much traffic already using unsuitable road. Unsustainable increase to congestion plus safety issues especially for cyclists/pedestrians.

The plan should only run for 15 years, any longer is not sustainable. The location of SG04 is unsustainable and will increase traffic in the town which is already becoming gridlocked from the new estates already being built. The infrastructure in the town is not enough to cope with the current houses let alone 1200 more.
The green belt around Kenilworth consists of agricultural land which is needed for food production and is protected, it has not been rated RED. It will also impact the site of a grade 1 listed building. Residents concerns should be taken seriously.
