The plan has enough capacity without building on green belt land
It's not lawful to build on green belt land if it can be met elsewhere
I enjoy the public footpaths as do thousands of local residents, it was why we purchased our house. To build would destroy our love for our community and neighborhood

This space is hugely important to the local community and is used by many people: dog walkers; hikers; joggers, families having picnics etc. My daughter loves picking blackberries here, and I love meeting friends to get some fresh air away from the office, and seeing all the different groups of people of all ages. It saved my mental health during lockdowns. It is indescribably important as a habitat for wildlife during catastrophic environmental collapse. I have seen butterflies, birds of prey and even a deer during an early run.

New housing needs more school places. This is not shown in the plan. The area between Sandy Lane, A452 and B4113 should be reserved for expanding North Leamington School. If this is built on then it implies a new school with it own overheads and so more expensive. Building more homes in north Leamington without infrastructure (new shops, schools, etc) will only add to the congestion on the Leam bridges as all the major shops are the other side of the river near Shires Shopping Park. Making a decision without the infrastructure being outlined is not joined up thinking.

The loss of agricultural land in this area is unnecessary. There is sufficient area for development in brown field sites so green field sites should not be used.

Building new houses in north Leamington is not only going to cause more traffic than we already have and the infrastructure won’t handle it. But more disappointingly it will ruin the countryside we have and that up market feel. Look at Warwick gates development it’s ruined and the traffic is colossal and the place looks like a tip. Leamington has been ruined enough without you building more trash in the best part of leamington.

This is inappropriate development of green belt land. The current infrastructure m, particularly the road system, is not suitable for such a large development. Local schools eg North Leamington are already at full capacity

This is an incredibly important area for thousands of people who have walked on the footpaths over the years. It is integral to the character of Leamington Spa and provides a much needed escape especially if you have a small or no outdoor space of your own. There is already immense pressure on the wildlife from the building of hundreds of houses elsewhere in and around Leamington Spa and from the vast disruption caused by HS2. A green space within walking distance is invaluable and building on it will ruin the character of Old Milverton.

This is high-amenity value land, which the local residents use and value. It is also high-grade agricultural land and forms part of the green belt, protecting surrounding villages from being absorbed into the town. Building on this land would have a detrimental impact on wellbeing and on the setting and character of Leamington and the surrounding villages. The public transport infrastructure is also not there to support a large settlement in this area, and it would therefore have a negative impact on local road systems. The drastic step of building on green belt land is not supported by the figures.

Covid highlighted the fact that the green belt is perfect for people`s mental health with rights of way in an open environment not only to exercise and witness wild life locally so should not be destroyed by environmental vandalism . This is valuable farming land that provides food with out importing products therefore should seriously be considered from a green attitude and long term for future food production. Peek times roads are congested creating longer travel times , outcome further pollution further health issues with the tax payer footing the bill. Empty buildings in Leamington should be repurposed for housing

Covid provided major proof that of the local green belt benefits provides wellbeing, mental health for the community that rights of way are and were actively used. The proposal will destroy wild life that benefits valuable farm land where environmental vandalism for this community will impact the green culture required. This area benefits from valuable food production without the need to import with further cost to the population which is spiralling. Traffic and infrastructure cannot currently cope at peek times at a cost to the local health then impacts on the NHS, therefore air quality will be compromised yet again

Again why should anyone build on green belt land, it has always has this status and was put in place for a reason, that being not to be built on.
The road infrastructure would not be good with the amount of traffic, already there is such an increase in traffic in this area. The roads are country roads and not made for such a high presence of traffic. With the schools within this area too there is more chance of there being accidents to school children etc. A strain on all facilities, schools, shops, parking, flooding, green countryside areas.

South Warwickshire’s housing needs can be met without building on green belt land. Building on the SG06 location would promote, not reduce car use, because of the distances to public transport. It is not a ‘sustainable’ site. Building on SG06 undermines the principle of biodiverse and environmentally resilient as the area provides habitats for a diverse range of plant and wildlife, including deer, birds and butterflies. It also undermines the principle of a healthy, safe and inclusive South Warwickshire. There are over 2 miles of footpaths crossing the area which contribute to the health and wellbeing of thousands of people.

South Warwickshire's housing needs can be met without building on Green Belt. SG06 is not a "sustainable location" - most travel to work, school and shops would be by car. The Green Belt around North Leamington vitally delivers its stated purposes - the document's argumentation about the Green Belt is flawed. The farmland under threat is high quality and should be used for food production. Access to the land is also vital to the wellbeing of Leamington residents and to biodiversity, including the threatened hedgehog population. The proposed Plan of 2017 was rejected by the inspector - what has changed?

I am equally concerned about this building site. I think that building a lot of housing on the edges of town will inevitably lead to more and more gridlock in the town centre. Particularly as weekly food shopping is all down one end of town. It would be good to see some plans for better public transport, more big supermarkets up the north end of town, etc, before welcoming this house building.

I disagree with the proposed use of SG06 within the plan. This is due to this area providing the closest area of rural amenity for people living in North and Central Leamington Spa. This area is within walking distance for many people living in Leamington whereas other rural areas would require use of a car to get there. This area provides an outstanding, diverse environment for local wildlife which would be lost forever. I believe there are other areas which are more suitable which do not require destruction of this natural green belt landscape.

We moved here to be in a village location and be in a rural setting with what we thought would be protected green belt areas. The area already has had additional estates added and has the destruction of HS2. The proposals would mean this is no longer a village and would impact the views, wildlife, schools, house prices, traffic. Green belt should be protected at every opportunity

The area lies within the “green belt” this should be a protected and remain a protected area. Preserving the open space is vital to remain the area as agricultural land, not only this the area is enjoyed by local walkers and dog walkers. It is the habitat for wild animals.
Building on this area will increase risk of flooding due to the sloping landscape.
The roads are also unable to handle high volumes of traffic and will change the nature and beauty of area.

I am very concerned with housing being built on this site. There will be an increased risk of flooding to the immediate areas not only impacting on current homes but also to the wildlife in the area. We have already given up land to hs2. The current Road infrastructure does not allow for more transport in this area

This part of Leamington provides a soft approach to the town, offering a clear view to the town's beauty.
The location is a strong performing Green Belt area, seperating Leamington to Kenilworth.
The mass of housing that could be put here will destroy this part of Leamington, and will be totally out of keeping with the existing character, being low density, quality and aspiration housing.
I am not wholly against housing in this location, but it must be small scale and limited to bespoke developers; not machines of mass monotonous boxes.

1. South Warwickshire's housing need can be met without building on green belt lane.
2.SG06 is not a sustainable location, no services train station, bus route etc
3.The green belt around north Leamington continues to fulfil the stated purpose of GB lane
4. The farmland is high quality used for food supply
5.The same proposals were rejected by planning Inspector in 2017
6.The green belt review informing plan is flawed in respect of the definition of large built up area

Traffic in this area is already substantial and often gridlocked at rush hour. Any significant increase in housing here would require a complete refresh and expansion of existing road capacity, which would go against the strategic objectives of the plan for more active travel. Construction would also erode the Green Belt separation between Leamington and Kenilworth, which although not as pressured as the Kenilworth-Coventry region is still under long term threat. The site is far from infrastructure in the centre of Leamington and would rely on Lillington, which is one of the most deprived areas in Warwickshire.

This space of open field for farming provides the natural beauty for a boundary between Cubbington and Lillington. It should be respected and maintained. I should be respected. Not only is it vital to nature, it is also excellent for healthy living by exercising walks. There is an eco balance required to maintain village life, massive housing development project will destroy this. . There are many other ares that are already under construction and development. These would be most like far more suitable and more cost-effective for further development. I hope this is well received and understood. Kind Regards Clifton

There seems to be a plan to sell as much of North Leamington for housing development as possible due this area's high house prices being comercially vaulable to developors. In recent times North Leamington school has sold off much of their land holdings as well as other developments in the area. Surely some parts need to be left reletavely untouched in order to benefit the people and natural life in this area. Build on brown site areas, not green.

.. and amenities the majority of people will be reliant on cars to access town. This will exacerbate already unsustainable traffic levels. Clearly, any traffic access onto Kenilworth Road will have a devastating effect, and will inevitably overload Blackdown roundabout as has been witnessed during the recent cycle path and River Leam works. Notwithstanding such access the whole area will suffer gridlocks for longer periods of the day as the volume of traffic flow in/out of Leamington from the North is significantly disproportionate to the South (of river), where the main concentration of local business and industrial premises are located.
