When this plot emerged as a site before it was noted that new roads would have to be built as the traffic is bad enough now. We need farm land to produce food, not build ever more houses without proper infrastructure and services

I don't support any further expansion around the Leamington area. There has been far too much development over recent years to the detriment of the area. The infrastructure cannot handle any more houses.
Kenilworth, Southam and Bishops are a better options for creating new homes as they haven't been overloaded as the Leamington area has.

As per Draft Policy- J- Reducing Flood Risk: New development should be prioritised to areas of lowest flood risk, i.e. the areas that are least prone to flooding in event of a heavy rains or storms and must not increase flood risk elsewhere. This land is necessary to capture rainwater run-off, and will compromise existing infrastructure and housing nearby if built on. It is greenbelt and should stay as such.

The land North of Leamington marks a clear break with the West Midlands conurbation and this distinction should be maintained. The recent South of Leamington development shows that there is no interest in the provision of public transport from public bodies or private companies so that there is the likelihood that yet another car-owning ghetto will be created; the only real beneficizries will be landowners and house builders.

SG06 is a vital green space for North Leamington residents. Its proximity to the edge of town makes it convenient for residents to use for their physical activity after work without requiring a car to drive to a park. Connected with the field by the Saxon mill it creates a route of good length for walking for the residents and their families. Depriving the residents of that natural space will have a negative impact on mental health, give the wrong message to children about the importance of preserving nature and devalue the area by adding pressure on already struggling infrastructure

The rampant growth in housing development across South Warwickshire is already putting unsustainable pressures on existing public services and transport infrastructure. It is becoming particularly noticeable to the North of Leamington where the boundaries between South Coventry and Kenilworth are already merging into what will become urban sprawl.

The land proposed in North Leamington is clearly not the "grey belt" the government proposed to use for new building. It is real, genuine Green Belt and the threshold for building on land such as this must be so stratospherically high to be essentially unreachable. This land is also active farmland and given that as a country we are far short of being self-sufficient in food, farm land must always be protected.
To conclude, this land is Green Belt. It must never be built on.

Substantial infrastructure investment, of at least the following, must be completed before any housebuilding is even considered on SG06:
- Widening of Sandy/Old Milverton Lane to build a path and dedicated cycle lane from exit of Leamington to A452 roundabout
- Traffic calming along all of Guys Cliffe avenue
- Resolution of flooding issues around Latomine drive
- Significant further traffic calming Leamington entrance from Old Milverton Lane
- Upgrade of the A452/Old Milverton Lane/B4113 roundabout to provide additional capacity
- Protection of the existing right of way between Old Milverton Lane and Bamburgh Grove via a green corridor

Given that the town's major supermarket confluence of 5 national majors plus B&Q (ex-Homebase) and The Range are all within 100 metres of each other around the Princes Drive/Park Drive/Myton Road roundabouts, a northern expansion will bring more traffic into town as a through route and into these already severely congested roundabouts and the railway underpass. Also Northumberland Road will increasingly be used as a through route and the diverted traffic for the recent Severn Trent work has shown how easily that gets jammed up.

This is an area of rich agricultural value, wide ranging wildlife habitat, supports recreation for Milverton and Leamington and is a vital rain water soak protecting the railway line and Leamington residents from increasing flood risk. To build on this precious and dwindling resource would devastate the natural beauty of this landscape.

I am only in favour of this if you have build a GP practice, school(s), shops, outdoor areas and recreational activities (eg cafes) in the housing development. Leamington has too many soulless housing developments now, and everyone in them needs to come into central Leaminton or the shopping park to do anything, which adds to the massive congestion problem on the roads. There also is not unlimited space in schools and GPs, and this can't be addressed only once the houses are complete and you've potentially run out of money, it needs to be part of the original building work.

This has been a long held area resisting development. Local people are concerned about additional pressures on the road network and the flooding that occurs in this river corridor as well as loss of valuable farmland and recreational routes into the countryside for adjoining residents.

We are weary of repeating when proposals for each new Local Plan has been drawn up over the years that high quality green belt land must not be used for housing development. This current Local Plan MUST recognise and balance the needs for housing with the climate emergency and the need for nature conservation. In addition, development north of Leamington threatens the loss of identity of Leamington and Old Milverton as two separate communities, and would in due course subsume one with the other, destroying the unique character and well-being of each of them.

Anything North of the River Leam is not sustainable due to poor Motorway and Rail access and lack of infrastructure. Does not meet the needs of "Exceptional circumstances" to negate Green Belt policy. Poor drainage and flooding is already a problem. Development would increase risk. Area is of historic archaeological importance. Leamington access is already gridlocked with only three crossing points over the River Leam. One crossing point over the River Avon to Warwick. No existing power or mains drainage. Insufficient schools, surgeries or dentists for increased headcount.

I'm not supportive of this development. It is a heavily used green space which local adults/children regularly use for walking, running, exercising dogs. Access to green, natural, open spaces is vital to physical and mental health. Heavy construction traffic will also mean medium term noise and air pollution.

SG06 is an area of greenbelt. It currently meets the needs of greenbelt set out in the NPPF:
1) It is currently preventing the sprawl of Leamington Spa northwards
2) It is preventing Leamington Spa connecting to the village of Blackdown and Kenilworth beyond
3) It is safeguarding the countryside from encroachment and gives local greenspace
4) It is used for recreational purposes (walking, dog-walking, running & exercise) by a significant number of the local community.
In addition, the proposed development would significantly increase traffic & pollution, impacting local health. The roads are not equipped for this increase in traffic.

there are no amenities this side of Leamington - all the supermarkets are south of Leamington or Warwick.
reduction of parking in Leamington town centre since closure of multi-storey carpark means difficult to travel to Leamington town to shop (doubt will walk / cycle)
Road into location - Guy's Cliffe Avenue fast, straight road with two schools - increase traffic = increased accidents
development will merge Old Milverton village into Leamington - changing the character of the area / removing walking area for local residents

The exclusion of development in the North Leamington Green Belt enables the plan to comply with the NPPF. The NPPF and the 2015 Conservative Manifesto stated clearly that Ministers attach great importance to the Green Belt and will maintain existing levels of protection. In March 2015, the Prime Minister declared that protecting the Green Belt is ‘paramount’. Several of the sites identified in the plan are contrary to such policies and declarations.
Greenbelt is to be protected and requires exceptional circumstances to be built on. There is nothing exceptional about the council's plans to meet their current housing target.

Leamington has expanded beyond its infra-structure capability/resources, as per the development between the Shires/M40, which has little to recommend it. The impact on access to Leamington is enormous, exacerbated by flooding at Princess Drive. This new plan will gridlock Leamington. (The cycle lane has narrowed the Kenilworth Road; I have yet to see it used!) The priority = redevelopment in the town and concentric circles outwards, instead of locating populations in houses that demand transport and provide no local resoources. Another new 'chicken-factory-farming’ development will guarantee Leamington, Kenilworth and Coventry becomes an urban sprawl.

I have serious concerns about this proposal as it would put additional strain on already stretched schools in North Leamington, lead to a huge increase in traffic and irreparably damage the landscape which is used by local walkers and a huge range of wildlife including muntjac's and birds. The proposal also takes in part of what is currently allotment land which would be extremely short sighted given the value of allotments for wellbeing, healthy eating, education and wildlife.
