It would be an absolute disgrace if this area was turned over for housing. Its green belt land containing ancient woodlands. I think its disgusting it's even been put forward as a potential site.

* Impact on the rail network and ability to support increase in passengers. Lapworth village already suffers from limited public transport.
* Impact on road infrastructure. Many roads are country lanes and not capable of upgrade to support a significant increase in cars without destroying the area.
* There is no evidence to show how the impact on schools and doctors surgery would be addressed and to ensure no homes could be built until all supporting facilities are in place and operational.
* Negative impact on greenbelt, wildlife & flooding.

I am writing to object to the proposed development of 6,000 houses at site C1 as outlined in the
SWLP. This site is within the green belt and is therefore of key importance to maintain the character of our rural communities and act as buffer for urban sprawl. The release of this land for development contradicts the principles of preserving our natural landscapes that are crucial to main ecological balance. We keep pigs and bees, both of which support the local community
with produce. The bees need the wildflowers, hedgerows, flowering trees to survive and there are numerous accepted studies demonstrating the impact of the declining bee population on the
environment as a whole.
Doctors are now prescribing a period of daily interaction with nature as opposed to medicine due to the physical and mental and spiritual wellbeing of individuals, which has a positive impact on families and the work force. To remove the greenbelt removes this essential natural medication and the easy availability of it to those not only living in the country but also those in nearby
towns. We have a public footpath through our fields regularly used by dog walkers and hikers
obtaining the benefit.
The proposed development will place an unsuitable burden on local infrastructure, including roads, schools and healthcare facilities. the Lapworth surgery is already full to capacity both as a facility and from the number of doctors and health care professional that are funded at that practise.

There isn't currently any demand for new housing, as even houses for sale now, are not being sold very quickly.
The current green areas, important for locals and visitors would be severely compromised or become non-existent.
Net Zero Carbon could not be achieved during the build of large scale housing and infrastructure.
the current heritage and cultural assets of the canals and old buildings would be impacted.

I live in the Kingswood area of Lapworth/Rowington, a rural region with limited employment opportunities. The area is in the green belt and lacks public transport options, making it difficult to reach Lapworth train station. The local GP surgery is full, and Lapworth primary school cannot accommodate more pupils without a new school being built. The proposed developments threaten the character of the area, which includes a canal conservation area and many listed buildings. Additionally, existing infrastructure struggles with flooding and power cuts, and narrow roads cannot handle increased traffic.

Objections:
1. Existing infrastructure ill-equipped to cope with influx of new residents. Traffic congestion will undermine sustainability. Pedestrian access to/from Lapworth station needed given much of the Old Warwick Road has no pavement.
2. Continuous development from Rowington to Lapworth undermines the Green Belt's purpose.
3. Losing small fields and hedgerow is contrary to Sustainability Assessment (SA) Objective 4, adversely affecting biodiversity and ecological balance.
4. Settlement would significantly adversely impact the historical environment within the SWLP area contravening SA Objective 5.
5. Ecological impact - Water quality of two watercourses potentially adversely impacted as identified in SA Objective 6.

This area is highly unsuitable and exactly the opposite of where we should be looking for potential settlements. The area is prime greenbelt and is not near any A roads or Motorway junctions, other than one small trains station this makes no sustainable transport sense at all. I fear that loss of the green belt in such an area would be extremely detrimental to Warwickshire's vista and a real loss to those that enjoy that landscape for it's countryside rights of way and the benefits it provides to their mental and physical health.

C1 would result in both Lapworth and Rowington becoming one it would destroy the village life of both areas. The best doctors surgery in the country (Lapworth Surgery) would be swamped. There is no way the country roads could handle the traffic. Rowingtons Social Club, the Cricket Ground, the Village Hall, the Allotments would all be lost. More green belt would be built on.

Inappropriate development for the area of Green Belt land. Environmental protection of wildlife, protected woods and concerns over increased pollution. Reducing access to recreational space for outdoor activities and changing the impact of the character of the area. Impact on traffic, highway safety, local infrastructure and public services/utilities which are already stretched.

I do not believe the beautiful section of green belt should be defiled in this way. In addition the location does not have sufficient infrastructure to support a development of this size. For example local roads cannot support the potential additional traffic, schools do not have the capacity and medical services would be insufficient not to mention energy, shops etc.

Can not see any justification for this site. Not near any station and access to road systems very difficult. Traffic would have to get out through Hockley Heath or Hatton. Cars essential for work as very few jobs in immediate area. Would remove some particularly attractive countryside along Stratford Canal. Apart from effects on countryside and environment, would also effect some heritage sites, Harborough Banks, Roman remains, and visually effect NT property at Baddesley Clinton.
The proposed 5000 houses is also below the size recommended for new settlements so there must be doubts about the infrastructure being put in fully

This area is less suitable for a major housing development, the school, doctors infrastructure is already at capacity.
road network unsuitable for any more traffic.
Power, water, sewerage are all currently at the limit.
There are more suitable locations without destroying green belt and the vast amount of wildlife habitats.

The Canal & River Trust asks that any proposed allocation of Site C1 considers the canal and takes account of its proximity and the potential impact that development could have on its character, setting, physical infrastructure, heritage significance and biodiversity value. We welcome the opportunity for further discussion if you intend to proceed with the allocation of this site.

Absolute lunacy. This week we saw how busy the surroudning roads already are, with the emergency closure of a stretch of nearby road. To propose to add thousands of newbuilds, each with at least one car for people to get to work, is nothing short of crazy. You have done nothing but propose to eat up vast swathes of the countryside, without any mention whatsoever of how those new estates will be serviced. There is no mention of road improvements, additional hospitals, fire stations, expanding the ambulance service. It's not just about building the homes; it's the services needed too.

Lapworth already floods extensively on a regular basis. Including a development of this size in the local plan in this area would overwhelm the school, local roads and increase the chances of roads closing due to flooding, which has happened more than once in the last 3 years.

Area of considerable beauty with much wildlife, ancient trees, hedgerows popular with walkers and cyclists. Unsuitable roads with numerous canal and railway bridges unsuitable for upgrade. Inadequate transport links with poor station facilities difficult to upgrade and no regular bus service. No gas supply and frequent electricity cuts. Flooding concerns with local streams. Several nearby National Trust sites of considerable historic importance. Inadequate school and medical facilities in the local area with the associated difficulties of communication would make the 20 minute area philosophy unachievable. It is necessary to preserve green belt areas such as this for the environment.

Inadequate infrastructure - services, roads, particularly the already overloaded sewerage systems - already discharges into local waterways (canals, streams) whenever there is a couple of hours rain
Loss and disruption of local character
What once was an excellent GP practice is already overworked and struggling to meet increased need
Traffic congestion and road safety - these rural lanes are already heavily utilised by bicycles, horse riders, ramblers, youth and pensioner groups, visitors to National Trust properties. Dilapidated roads and small bridges already overused

There is not sufficient infrastructure for this proposal, the local hospital is small and has declared critical incident as not able to cope, the local surgery- once was best in the country- is at capacity due to new dwellings that have been build and it is impostor get an appointment, the additional houses will add to congestion during rush hour, not to mention that the local landscape would be completely disturbed. Strongly oppose to any houses being build here
